For whatever reason none of my Apple 6E devices could detect the 6 ghz band. For 3 days I tried every suggestion from Apple and Arris yet nothing worked. Also for some strange reason when I connect my device ti the network I’m told that my network is hidden despite checking the option to broadcast my network ssid in the modem/router gateway. Considering that the main reason why I bought this was that I could use 6e I’m returning this until Arris gets this sorted out.

1.2gbs xfinity plan, 500sqft apartment. Download speeds of 1.2gbs over wifi, Fortnite 50gb game was downloaded under 8min…… Worth the current price tag of $600 thats everyones own personal judgment.

Had a Netgear CAX80, what an expensive headache to have to mess around with. Constant random disconnects with no rhyme or reason, NAS links would just disappear when downloading files and end up with corrupted or no files at all, web portal interface SLOW as molasses and constantly restting itself to factory settings, even if you saved the profile it would bootloop as one setting wouldnt take and then back to square one over and over. The final straw was the multi-gig port on it just up and broke, crappy software, firmware and hardware, the trifecta of technological incompetence that is Netgear. Saw the Arris G54 and grabbed it as quickly as i could, first thing i noticed was how incredibly easy it was to setup, just plug in and setup with Xfinity app, took about 6 mins, the app itself took 5 mins to initialize and activate, so really 1 min, and secondly, how fast it was with the newest Wifi7 spec, also the multi-gig port is 10G and ill be using this with a 10G unmanaged switch so maximizing bandwidth, and lastly RELIABILITY, no weird disconnects or network links randomly going down out of the blue. The web portal is fast and easy to manage, also much more user friendly and intuitive interface. The Wifi coverage is great even setting the transmit oower to only 25% for 5Ghz and 6Ghz, and 12% for 2.4Ghz. Awesome gateway so far, this is definitely the one to get, still playing around with settings and learning this one but it is definitely a beast and top of the line and DEPENDABLE. Oh yeah, also some devices that wouldnt connect under the CAX80 and its widely known WPA3 issues with certain devices, well that doesnt plague this device, all the devices that i could never get to connect under the CAX80, connected easily to this one, not one hiccup. Love this thing, it just works. No more headaches and staying up late cursing network equipment due to one faulty overpriced device (CAX80).

I separated all my wifi channels from 2.4ghz, 5ghz, 5ghz high and 6ghz. Through speed tests, im getting 1200 to 1300 mb/s speed tests. I have like 20 devices connected and not experiencing any slownes. If you have xfinity arris is the brand to go with

  5. DonT

Yes it is that good. Fast. Home coverage not much better than the SBG8300. But fast.

  6. LearJet55

This unit is overpriced. I have not succeeded yet to successfully call the support. I think their support policy has changed.

The speed is a little bit faster than the previous modem, although it fluctuates during the day. I have to reboot the modem to get a better speed. After I reboot the modem twice, the speed will improve. We bought the fastest speed from our carrier. We are supposed to get >1200 Mbps, but we are not getting close to the speed that we are paying for. (We even changed the cables to Cat 8.) The main reason we bought this modem is to get a better speed. (I am not sure which end is responsible. I don’t think this is the modem’s problem) I am including this information for other potential buyers.

The set up was easier than any other modem/router combo and the range is superb. The light combo is way easier to tell if theres something wrong too. Makes it alot easier for folk who don’t know what each light means on an older modem/router.

  8. Cdub707

Works really well but my cable network said it’s way overkill for 1gbs so I decided to keep my current one. When my current one fails completely, I’ll be buying this again.

It doesn’t stay connected. WiFi will lost signal then reconnect.

  11. JoeM

The unit is still new to me, to early to rate it’s performance. Seems like it is working good though.
Very disappointed with the sales person at Best Buy. His info was very misleading. He just wanted to make the sale

  12. Phil

This one was expensive, but I think it was worth the money, great connection great speed.

This ARRIS modem router was as advertised. Easy to connect and includes all the bandwidths and Wi-Fi 7 for future technology.

I had high hopes for this modem/router. Right out of the box the router didn’t work. After several calls to ARRIS customer support (which was extremely difficult to understand being they were in a different country). After a lot of troubleshooting we were able to get it to work and connect to the internet. However the options within the modem never worked. I wasn’t able to set firewall settings or set up a device approved list. The ARRIS app is awful and never worked.
Aside from that when it worked, it worked well. The wifi speeds were 800 mbps down.
After about 30 days the ethernet and wifi speeds both dropped off to 4 mbps. No matter how many factory resets I did the problem would not be resolved. I ended up returning it as it looked to be a hardware issue.
Not worth the price. I’m going back to Netgear products

This product is exactly what I was looking for. I have a three-story home and my old router was not powerful enough to accommodate my entire home. My provider is Xfinity and this product was one of their recommendations. I am very satisfied with it.
I did have to call customer service to help me set up the app. Other than that, it was very easy to install and set up.
