    I’ve never used Arris products before until now, so I didn’t know what to expect (despite the great reviews). Initially I bought this to go with my tp-link deco mesh routers, and they did work together. However, I learned that it is not ideal to mix brands (even though each website said they were compatible with one another & my ISP). I live in a 61-year-old multi-level home and the layout is full of walls/barriers for good wifi reception. Although this cable modem works amazingly well combined with a different brand of routers, I did end up purchasing a set of Arris mesh routers to go with this. Now, it works perfectly!
    The product itself is very lightweight, which causes issues when connecting a coax cable to the back. The coax is heavier than the modem, causing it to move in whatever direction the cable moves. That makes it a little inconvenient, but it’s workable. Otherwise, it’s really simple to hook up and get going. Download the app and set up will take you no time.
    *Beware, there isn’t a full owner’s manual for this in the box, just a quick start guide. If you want more detailed info, you’ll have to get it online. Likewise with the specifics of the Surfboard app.
    *Also, do realize that this is a modem only, not a modem/wifi router combo. This will NOT give you a wifi connection throughout your home without a wifi router.
    I would certainly recommend this modem.

    Very good modem, no wifi in it, this is modem only but it really sails along on the web! I’ve got gigabit internet, and while your mileage will vary (several factors at play for connection speeds) I am seeing 890-930, the first test I ran actually showed 988 somehow! Great modem, no fuss, it just works.

    The product worked somewhat well for three months and then just stopped working. I was on the phone with Cox for hours troubleshooting, and they weren’t able to see it show up at all while it just continued to reset itself. I had to buy a new modem.

    I use this with the Google mesh system. It works well most of the time. I rarely notice it, which is a gopd sign. I don’t recall having to reset it in the year plus I have had it. My internet provider is more of a limiting factor than this is.

Purchased because I had a SURFboard previously (8 years) and only bought this because my old one didn’t have the capacity I needed for the faster gig-speed. So expect this to work just as well and at least the same amount of years.

    This modem is faster than the standard modem you get from Cox or Comcast. Its a plug and play modem i didn’t have to contact the provider to set it up which was nice. Overall, worth the upgraded price.

    Great Product.

    This product is slim which if your like me then the space where you put your internet materials is limited. Additionally, while using this modem I received lighting quick speeds. I additionally like the 2 Ethernet ports in the back (make sure to check with your ISP if you pay for more than one public IP address) this gave me flexibility in my home networking needs.

    For this price, this modem cannot be beaten. It also one of the most accepted modems which allows flexibility in ISP providers.

    So far works great. Replaced a Motorola that was more expensive 2-3 years ago. Activated with Xfinity with a couple restarts. We get around 850 – 950 mbs on a 1.2 gb plan which is plenty.

    Easy set up and we’ll see about long term reliability.

    I had been suing an earlier version of this SB6190 for few months which worked wonderfully, so I decided to repurchase ARRIS modem. It is working perfectly fine and shows different lights (yellow vs blue) depending on internet speed you have.
