    Stable and plenty fast. If you’re not a gaming pro or running an Internet cafe out of the basement, then this modem is probably all the horsepower you need.

    Most people way over estimate how much bandwidth that they need to stream. We have the minimum package from our ISP (25Mbps-which may have also been recently upgraded to 50Mbps by them) and are able to stream 4K to our primary TV, HD to our secondary TV and gaming/streaming to 4 cell phones/tablets/pcs simultaneously. (Way too much multi-screening if you ask me!) Why overpay for a service and a modem when you do not need it?

    We just bought this modem to replace our previous one (similar model) which started to die after a recent upgrade from our ISP. It was easy to setup (the only pain is with the ISP) and has performed great! It has more than enough capacity for what you actually need!

    It is working well so far. Have not had any major networking or internet issues since buying this modem. Hopefully that continues to be for the foreseeable future. One thing that could be better though, is the base of the modem. It does not balance all that well to stay upright.

    No issues, inexpensive modem with high quality performance. After power outages, it has always reset itself to pair again with the router. Never any issues, set up very easy through wifi provider.

    I’ve had this ARRIS – SURFboard 16 x 4 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem installed for only a month. So far- the entire process has been- knock on wood- perfect.
    Online order and delivery was easy and timely and undamaged. Price was very reasonable. Installation was a piece of cake- and compatible with Comcast/Xfinity. An online review paired this with a TP-Link wifi and it’s proved to be accurate. There have been no issues with functioning or lock up, streaming a movie, video, zoom meetings, security. Made me look like a pro and hero. Now let’s see how long the modem lasts.

    Comcast sent me a letter telling me that my cable modem wasn’t supported anymore.

    I bought the SB6183 based on the good reviews.
    It was also on sale.
    I don’t have the fastest internet so DOCSIS 3.0 is just fine.

    I followed the prompts on the Xfinity app to activate for my account. The process went flawlessly.

    rcn, which did not allow their customers to purchase their own equipment, got bought out by astound, who does allow their customers to purchase their own equipment. so i bought this surfboard, which works fine and as a result i am saving almost $20 per month.

    This is a great little modem that works reliably well. Power cycling is fast and easy. I’ve had plenty of net issues over the years, but this modem was never the issue! If you have Spectrum they may not actually provide you the speeds they promise if you have it however. It has the specs for what I’m getting, but since they don’t own this one, and have discontinued it from their “approved” list, you might need to upgrade or get their provided one. I’ll miss this little guy, I appreciate the space saving!

    Small (5″x5″x2″), easy to set up, would fit anywhere. Does not have input for phone, but I have a cell phone, so don’t miss it. It’s working great.
