Awesome light show. Impressive range. I currently have 3 of those

This router is one of the highest quality routers you can ever buy. It’s made by Ubiquiti and it shows. The power cord is thick, the weight of the router is enough to show that Ubiquiti means business. It’s a gorgeous design and setup is screaming fast. I loved it, but had to return it because my printers are wifi 3 and 4. I couldn’t get the printers to stay on the network. So for now, I have to use my Ubiquiti Dream Machine, which is wifi 5.
I miss the blazing fast wifi speeds of the Alien. I could copy gigs of data from one machine to an SSD external on another – FAST. I would recommend it over any other router out there.
Also, it has a super intuitive interface.

Easy set up …dramatically improves range and speed.

Purchased 2 of these to use as a mesh system for my home and I couldn’t be more pleased with the quality and reliability. I’ve not had one issue with these routers and l love the ease of setting them up as well as the ease of use. The app for this product is great as well.

Works as advertised. Simple setup out of the box. Software makes sense. Slick and just works – the perfect combination. The touchscreen is informative at a glance, and functional. Bought multiple units to scale. This thing is rad.

I bought an Eero Pro 6 last year, and was having nothing but problems getting it to maintain HomeKit, IoT, and acceptable quality of service for a gigabit fiber connection in a 1 bedroom. I have an intermediate level of networking knowledge.
The Amplifi Alien solved it all overnight. I know Ubiquiti is the undisputed best in this category, but I didn’t want to bother with all the extra setup. I have about 30 wireless devices, and 3 small unmanaged switches at drops throughout the house. About 30 IoT products.
This router hits the perfect middle ground of Ubiquiti quality, features, and reliability without requiring an advanced networking certification to get the most out of it.
Specifically to Apple ecosystem users: this is the solution to your woes. Got a HomePod stereo pair that always seems to flake out? Home app giving you “No Response” all the time? Alien’s gotchu.

One of the best routers on the market. This thing can handle a ton of traffic.

Best product I bought in the long time had a lot of issue with mesh routers. This is simple to set up a little high on the price, but you pay for what you get.

Had a nighthawk x12 and this is a lot more reliable. Worked grest out of the box. Easy to setup.

I’ll keep this short and sweet. I bought 2 of these around 2 years ago when I bought my first house. My house is about 1700 sqft and was built in 1960’s (I live in SF Bay Area, so houses are rather old). It has super thick walls and construction, so just 1 router wasn’t going to cut it.
Fast forward to today, I have about 45 devices connected to these (most of them wirelessly). I have smart light switches, smart plugs, 12 Ring cameras, Google Assistants, Alexas, a home theater PC, a DIY NAS, a network printer, you name it.
These have been ROCK SOLID from day 1. I have to restart them maybe once every 3 months, most times because my cable model goes haywire and I lose internet connectivity.
These pack all the essential features you’ll need. An integrated ad blocker, the ability to define multiple SSIDs on different radios, and the “Teleport” feature which let’s you VPN into your home and get access to all your local services remotely (I often use it for grabbing files from my NAS).
The mobile app is very user friendly and exposes almost all these features to you (except the ad blocker). Also, I love the fact that I can see my home IP address in a matter of seconds when I’m not home.
I recently bought my second home (a townhouse) and this is literally the first thing I bought.
If you want the top-of-the-line routers that “just work” and are tired of dealing with all the crap that Netgear and other off-the-shelf manufacturers make, get the Amplifi Alien.

I’ve had no issues with this router. Love the app and the stability of my wifi now.

Upgraded from my Google Nest router. This router has Wi-Fi 6 which is an upgrade to my home network and is HomeKit compatible. Not to mention it looks really cool. Very easy to set up. If you know what you’re doing, you can have it up and running in about a minute.
JHAIN15 –
This home wifi system has exceeded my expectations and more. Very easy to setup and easy to configure.

The AmpliFI-Alien WIFI 6 Mesh Router is a gem! Technically it has so many features not offered by others and their support staff is 1st rate.
Mikalmit –
Not very many functions for the price you pay. Web panel very limited with what you can do.
HowardK –
Super easy to set up! Really great features to have easier management over our network. Its looks are great too without having a crab laying on its back somewhere on a shelf.

The AmpliFi Alien Mesh router is, without a doubt, a paragon of simplicity when it comes to setting up a cutting-edge home network. In a world where tech can sometimes seem daunting, this router emerges as a beacon of user-friendliness, reassuring even the most tech-wary individuals. It’s akin to a breeze on a hot summer day – refreshing, and it just makes your life easier.
Familiar with the hallmark quality of Ubiquity, opting for this router was a decision made with utmost confidence. And rightly so, for it effortlessly delivers on its promise. The setup process is a symphony of simplicity, akin to a well-practiced routine. Within moments, you’re seamlessly connected to a world of blazing-fast connectivity. It’s as if you’ve just unearthed a treasure chest of speed, all yours for the taking.
But what’s more, it isn’t merely the speed; it’s the range too. This router’s WIFI6 capabilities mean that you can wander freely in your abode, and the signal will follow. No more corners shrouded in the darkness of poor connectivity. And, as your needs grow, the thought of adding another of these marvels only adds to the excitement. In essence, the AmpliFi Alien Mesh router is a stellar testament to technological ease, offering a glimpse into a future where technology serves you, effortlessly.

Easy to set up. Adjustable lights are nice. Not too big

We have a 4500 sq Dr home and one unit did the job. Improved service throughout. No more spinning circles
Paul –
Not a bad router, but not it’s great either. I bought it to replace the eero device that Frontier gave me when I signed up for their gigabit service. Using it with Apple Home kit is kind of hit or miss – one of my smart plugs keeps dropping the connection, even though it’s within line of site to the router. Pretty annoying when you tell Siri to turn off the lights and one tends to stay on. Final fix was to assign Channel 6 to my 2.4 network. Coverage is average but nothing spectacular. I will say that it is pretty fast – the Apple TV tops out at 750 Mbps download speed at 35 feet.
SeanVB –
Amazing! This beast has been well worth the price for me. Tons of features if you’re into advanced networking, but awesome range usability!
AaronD –
Amazing router. We recently got fiber and our nighthawk wasn’t able to perform to its full potential. This Amplifi is amazing. Im going to get another one to put in the other side of the house to have a mesh setup.
MaseSpace –
Worth every single penny. It preforms incredibly well. The ONLY reason i got rid of it was to upgrade to multi gig.
Monster –
Work really good for me may need one more for mash
Since is located in the basement and one on the 2nd fl.like the display and see quickly
What going on

This has been an excellent alternative to the mesh system I originally wanted. This covers the entire house, and shows all the usage information right on the screen. The App is very simple to use and would recommend this to anyone looking to update our upgrade their Wi-Fi.
MyApple –
I’m an IT guy, and this Router has been the best. It’s not the latest tech. but you probably don’t need the latest. It’s one of the strongest signals out there
Chov –
Great router. It blankets the whole house and works really well with handling lots of devices.
ChristopherG –
Purchased this router based on other reviews, after I researched solutions to a weak Wi-Fi signal in certain areas of my home. It was very easy to set up, and it has boosted the Wi-Fi signal to where I needed it. Highly recommended

Set and forget. Had neverending issues with Orbis. Placed these literally in the exact same places, and zero issues, downtime, reboots, etc.
Gene –
I love this router.. great range and amazing performance.. I suggest to get extended protection in case something happens to the hardware. I’ve been having issues with the meshes connecting after a year and a half and their support is delayed and not helpful.
pcaldwell1985 –
It’s super fast and reaches all around my house, including rooms I used to need a repeater for. Being able to check things on my phone through their app is a nice perk as well and makes things super easy to allow guests to join.
N8er –
Very nice router, I have owned this for about 2 years now and it has held up very well. The app is very well set up and I like the fach that it has a touch screen on the front as well( which is a little small). It does seem to get a bit warm, not sure why there wasn’t more ventilation thought of for this router? Overall it performs and has many useful functions.
Anurag –
One of the best routers money can buy. This can be considered a long term review. I have been using this solid piece of network gear for over 2 years and it has been extremely solid. I have over 15 + active devices at any time. From multiple phones to tables to TV and a pS5. It can run all of them simultaneously. I have it on auto network mode meaning it handles creation of channels on its own to optimize my usage.
A very solid buy. When this dies I will buy one more. I say this because if you keep running your router under heavy load like I do it will eventually die.
Solid piece of gear none the less
Idothebluffing –
Quite far the best mesh network no matter what anyone says. I’ve used this for over 4 years and it’s still one of the best routers available today. I recommend it to everyone. It’s all digital and the phone app is amazing. Manage every devise and make different channels for specific devices anytime.
RajC –
Excellent aesthetic design and user interface. But the wireless performance (coverage) is poor. VPN Access to the unit only from iOS/Android Apps, but no luck for MacOS! Frequent issues (with advanced features turned on) with iPhone 14 (Pro and Pro Max devices at our home) WiFi performance working with these units – only way out is to toggle “Airplane Mode” or need to restart the unit(s). Net-net, poor value for your money!
JermaineG –
A good wifi 6 router however missing wifi6e capability… very reliable and good as a stand-alone or add in a mesh system…
Donna –
Works amazing! Connection is reliable, never drops and the speeds are consistent and fast. Unfortunately, I purchased a top of the line eero first and that was a mistake…my devices buffered a lot or the connection would drop constantly along with slow speeds. This 1 Alien unit replaced 3 eero’s (main unit and 2 beacons). The Alien’s wifi works fantastic and reaches all over my house. I have used many Amplifi products and they are the best. If you have fiber like I do, you need the Alien for reliability and speed.
Barnstormr –
Easy set up. Amazing speed. Great app to help set up and monitor your network. Adding a second one to extend coverage/mesh was a piece of cake. Only issue i found was that i wanted to integrate them with Apple Home (a major reason for selecting it). Which they will – except if you set two as a mesh. Oh well. Kept the mesh setup however to make sure coverage was decent upstairs on opposite side of house from main router.
Koelner –
This solved all previous issues with internet set-up. Tried router and modem combo’s and seperated set ups from all other brands. The set-up was easy, instructions are clear and the display is useful. Most importantly, consistent and uninterrupted performance.
Shane –
Great devices, simple set up & I love the fact I could add on several more to create a large (~10K sqft) mesh network.
Hamza –
I got this router because Ubiquity makes it. It does not put basic features behind stupid paywalls or subscriptions. It does not send data to a weird server like TP-Link. The signal is really strong. The screen is cool, but I think this would be a better deal if they skipped the screen and were cheaper.
MiHow –
I have been pleasantly surprised, with how well this unit has been working out for me. It was a fairly simple process to get this unit setup and configured. I will note that initially I did have issues with getting an IP address from my modem. It kept looping through the process before failing. I had placed the unit in bridge mode which temporarily resolved the issue, however, it needed to not be in bridge mode to function properly. I factory reset the Amplifi unit and everything started working after that. Not a huge deal, just slightly annoying. It proceeded to perform a firmware update, no issues there. Everything else worked like a charm. All of my IoT devices connected without issue (unlike previous brands which required using guest wifi). As for connection speeds, I am getting everything I’d expect. Both wireless and wired connections. The LCD display on the front is “fun” to periodically look at and the overall look of the unit is awesome. I do like how there is a scheduled night mode so that the LED lights aren’t blasting when not needed. They are also configurable in that you can control the individual brightness of both eh LED base and LCD display. The app works nicely. There aren’t a whole lot of options with the WebUI so the app is key to managing the features and functionality. All-in-all, a great unit that has been working really well.

Great router, works well and has the controls I need in the app
