Aditya –
There are many professional reviews which you can read online, I am a fairly basic user who from time to time needs some photos and videos fixed and like to do it myself. I can tell you that in summary this is perfect for my use case, it is also optimized well as it runs like quickly enough on my aging PC. (10 years old CPU, fairly new GPU and 32 GBs of RAM with SSD). I upgraded from 2019.
Few extra points which I liked,
I have been using it for some time now, I have explored the Elements mainly (photo editor) and I am very pleasantly surprised. I had some photos with unwanted objects and persons ruining an otherwise perfect to print image. It is very hard to get an image at a place like Universal studios without anyone else in the shot.
Using the remove object option, I was able to get rid of them. There were ways to do it in previous versions but I felt the selection is much less frustrating with this version (I have not used last couple of versions). I was also able to rebuild the parts correctly, which were broken because of the object removal. I am very satisfied as I know it will come in handy a lot of time.
A lot of the options from past remains same and I feel a few are removed but considering I never used them, I am not complaining.
My video editor requirements are very basic, which is to take band videos and edit them at both ends. The last version did it fine and so does this version. I did try to explore the highlight reels but am yet to reach the finalize video.

Video/photo apps and software are a dime a dozen. You’re likely to have used some version of photo editing, maybe even video editing, on your phone. For me, Adobe is still the gold standard. I’ve used the Elements software for years now and I love them. They’re made for beginners, but certainly have “pro” features for those with experience in the area or after you’ve made yourself familiar with the tools available. I’m speaking to those that are interested in video/photo editing but are turned off by the complexity of some software (which includes Adobe’s other offerings). I’m no pro, but I’ve used both Photoshop and Premiere Elements to create home videos over the years and find them easy to use. There’s still a little learning curve, but each year’s iteration of the software gets better and better at teaching you the basics as well as incorporating smart and simple ways to make basic edits (i.e. removing background). This years version even incorporates AI (whatever that means in practice) to help curate videos which is extremely nice if, for example, you simply want to make a video slideshow of pictures to music.
First, a few things. You’ll need an Adobe account if you don’t already have one. Once you have one, you download the software and enter in your registration/serial number to activate the software. Honestly, this doesn’t take long at all. You’re given two downloads, meaning you could in theory have the software downloaded on 1 desktop and 1 laptop. (or another combination of the two). Also, once you pay for this software you own it. Full stop. This is not a subscription based service, which gets awfully expensive and can really only be justified for those that use these programs on a somewhat daily basis (IMHO).
Second, and importantly, system requirements. My desktop is a bit older, I’m operating an older 10 series NVIDIA GPU with 32 GB RAM and an upgraded SSD drive. My laptop is much more powerful, rocking a 30 series NVIDIA graphics card with 32 GB RAM. Both have Intel processors. I had no performance issues on either device – although my desktop does seem to take longer to render videos and older versions of Elements has frozen on me (but not the 2024 version … yet). But the recommended requirements are Intel 7th gen or newer, or AMD equivalent. You’ll need at least 16 GB of RAM when working with HD files and 32 GB when working with 4K media. You’ll need a dedicated graphics card with at least 4GB of VRAM. To translate, most machines built in the past few years will have no issues. The biggest issue is making sure you have a dedicated GPU and ample RAM.
After the software is on your computer, whenever you open one or the other (Premiere Elements or Photoshop Elements), you’ll be taken to what I see as a “hub.” From there you can select which program you want to open – including your organizer. Think of the organizer as a way to organize all your photos. It will even recognize faces – not unlike Google Photos. I don’t typically use the organizer (maybe I should) because I save all my photos and videos to Google Photos. But it’s a nice feature to have for those that like to organize their photos/videos – versus keeping them in random folders throughout your computer. It basically finds all of them on your computer and you can look at them from one location.
Whether you open Photoshop or Premiere Elements, you’ll see in the middle of your screen towards the top an option for “Quick”, “Guided” or “Expert.” You can think of these as knowledge levels, where being in the Quick screen allows for basic editing – for more common edits like trimming videos, changing colors in photos. Guided actually walks you through, teaching you along the way, different types of skills. For example, in Premiere it will walk you through how to create transitions or add text to your video files. There’s even fun edits like bounce back, slow motion, etc.
The UI is clean and easy to follow. I like the 2024 version much better than 2018. The icons are bigger, and they’re easier to understand which is especially helpful for newcomers. In Premiere, most of the time, this is all I need as I am typically just trimming video clips, adding transitions and maybe some background music. You can of course use your own audio files, but there’s also a decent collection of musical scores available to download within Premiere itself. But as you gain more familiarity with editing photos and videos, you can move into the “Advanced” view which gives you even more control – what I would describe as more fine tuning. And obviously you’re able to perform more advanced video/photo editing techniques like having additional layers of photos or different video/audio feeds overlaying in your video. I will say, some of the built in graphics options are a little lame. For example, you can insert stickers into your videos. These are usually pretty corny graphics – most of which I personally wouldn’t use. But admittedly, to add anything similar to my video (outside of having this feature built in) is beyond my expertise. So I guess in some ways, the tradeoff is the easy ability to add certain types of graphics, effects, etc. to your videos/photos, but you’re limited to what Adobe provides – unless you’re smart enough, already know how, or are willing to figure it our, how to create such graphics and import them.
AI features. I admittedly use GoPro Quik. It’s an app that curates and automatically creates short video clips of my GoPro footage. What I don’t like is that you can only use that on your phone (I prefer working on a larger screen). But the new version of Adobe Elements has something similar. Under Create, you can create a highlight reel, video collage, or video story – with the help of AI. Basically, you pick one of those categories, select the photos/videos you want from Adobe Organizer or your computer, and it processes it to create an automatic video to sound nd transitions without you having to do anything. Once it creates it, you can still go back and tweak it to make it just right. For me, making family videos and editing family photos, this is awesome. While I enjoy making my own videos from scratch, it requires much more work. If you simply want to make a video story of a recent family trip on the fly, you can upload your photos/videos and have a video made quickly. While the videos I create don’t always come out perfect, it’s great to have something to start with that I can then tweak. To me, this feature is one of the biggest selling points of the new version of Elements. This feature did not exist in the older versions I’ve used. I should also add, when making these videos, when you are first creating it you can tailor the output or size of the screen to whatever social media app you want to use (i.e instagram, YouTube, Facebook).
At the end of the day, if you have a passing interest in organizing and editing your own videos/photos, Adobe Elements is the way to go for the newcomer. It has really helpful guides to walk you through what will seem like an impossible task. It teaches you the basics while making videos and photos. You can then utilize the skills you learn to apply more and more advanced techniques. While I can’t say Elements has all the pro features of Adobe Photoshop and Premiere, I think you’d find it has about everything the novice and amateur would need. Top that off with some smart features to create videos for you – that you can still tweak – and software you actually own without paying a subscription for, and you have a pretty good combo.
MurphyR –
I appreciate that they are making advances in the software year on year. That being said, is what they’ve added worth upgrading? I think that highly depends on your use-case. In my personal set-up, I typically use Elements for video editing to create simple videos for YouTube. This isn’t really an upgrade over the past several years that would generally be worth it for me.
However, what they have added could be quite powerful if you’re looking to put together some stylized, high-quality videos. You can color match different sections of video, so think like the Matrix movies where everything was green-tinted in the Matrix and blue in the real world. Here, you can more easily do that. Similarly with audio, you can add all manner of effects that I’ve generally only seen on guitar pedals, but you can also reduce hum and white noise in your audio to better focus on the speech in the clip in case your microphone wasn’t quite up to snuff.
If you want a compilation video of a recent vacation, this is also supposed to help by using AI to generate a nice summary video of all of your video and photos, but I haven’t done any travel to get materials for testing such functionality.
Overall, if you’re just putting together simple videos, this may be more power than you need. If you’re getting interested in video editing, or have large sets of videos to create summary footage of, this may be a great way to go.

Whenever a new version of anything comes out, there are always newly added features and improvements, Photoshop Elements being no exception. Many options have been simplified, such as adding text, making photo reels, color matching, sky/background swapping, and one-click edits. Premiere Elements adds easy photo enhancement, Adobe Sensei AI editing, new templates, streamlined organization of photos and videos, and app/mobile access. These two products bundled together make for the ultimate editing package!
As a self-proclaimed dingus when it comes to Photoshop, I enjoy the guided edits feature as I learn the program. I also love Pet Perfection, a one-stop edit which targets reflective eyes, blurry movements, and general sharpness. My absolute favorite feature is that there is no monthly subscription needed! This is a one time buy and has already saved me quite a bit of cash. Elements is meant to be for those who are just beginning their journey into photo and video editing and has been incredibly helpful to me so far.

I decided to upgrade my Photoshop Elements & Premiere elements 2022 since there were new features I wanted. New features include change lighting from light to dark (like Lightroom), create reels for social networking, and instant selection tool allowing selection of either subject or backgrounds. Also there is access to a huge amount of Adobe stock photos. I purchased the boxed version with activation code. Installation requires going to an Adobe site (you must have an account created) and entering the redemption code. Then it will provide the serial numbers which is what you need to activate after install. I got an error message stating the product wasn’t activated at the store (like a gift card activation). I brought it back and they swapped me for a fresh copy. I watched the CS associate as she scanned and activated it. When I got it home, same error message. I called Adobe CS and they got it straightened out and emailed me the serial numbers. The next step is to download the zip files at another Adobe website. This worked and during the install I got failures. After some research I discovered I had to uninstall the Adobe Creative Cloud left over from the previous version. Then both programs installed correctly. Also note Adobe Camera RAW which came previous versions didn’t come with this version. Once in the program, you must go to help/install Camera Raw to install this plugin separately. I use Camera Raw to process DNG raw files from my drone and NEF raw files from my nikon DSLR camera. So if you process RAW image files you need Camera Raw. I’m still exploring the changes from the 2022 version. I hope it goes better than the installation.

I have been using Adobe Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements for years as an easy to use graphic / photographic editing suite. I have used these applications on both Windows and Macintosh based systems for easy and fast edits on computers that would have strained to run the professional versions. I look at these applications as being great for fast and accurate editing.
Some of the highlights of “The Elements 2024 photo & video editing bundle’s” recent release includes the following.
The ability to add text to your images in cool, creative ways.
For example, you can apply stylized text to your photographs by using the Add Text Guided Edit tool. With it you can customize text placement, font style (colors, patterns, etc.).
The ability to match colors with a single click is a feature that can enhance, simplify, and speed up editing.
Automatically matching the color and tone of any photo or video with Color Match is very easy to do and can add a lot to both still or video imagery. You can choose a preset or use your own photograph or video clip.
You can create attention grabbing Photo Reel clips, that are customized with text, graphics, etc. These can be saved as MP4s or GIFs for easy sharing on the web.
There are many more new and improved cool features to explore.
Enjoy!

I’ve used Adobe Photoshop Elements for quite a few years. It seems that every year brings enhancements that make it worth upgrading to the newest version, and the 2024 edition continues this tradition.
So, what’s new for 2024? A lot. First, there’s Color Matching. Using your own image or a preset template, with just a click you can apply a new color palette to an existing image. Once applied, you can adjust the color, tone, and brightness to your desired levels. Find a setting that you really like, and save it back as a new template. Next up for me is the ability to replace backgrounds with a single click. Powered by Adobe Sensei AI, this feature allows you to automatically separate foreground objects from background objects, easily replacing either or applying new patterns. Have an image of the sky that works better in this photo than the original? With just a few clicks you can replace it. There is also the ability to add graphic text to images, and many features that previously took multiple steps are now done with in a single pass.
Carried over from Elements 2023, the Sensei AI technology allows you to update foreground images as well. Like the photo of the birthday party but wish you’d worn a different shirt? Not a problem, just have Photoshop select the area and replace it with the pattern and color you want. Unwanted objects in the image? Draw a rough outline around the area, and let Photoshop fill the area in based on the surrounding background. Want to make the photo move to say, simulate a moving vehicle? Simple. Want to just make a part of an image appear to be in motion? Again, it just takes a couple of clicks.
When you add these advanced features to the class-leading capabilities of Photoshop, it’s easy to see why Photoshop is such a standard that it became a verb. This is a must-have program for anyone who needs to edit their images, from minor tweaks to major overhauls. I can’t recommend this strongly enough.

Just purchased and it won’t let me redeem code messages says Oops! This code doesn’t seem to be active
RayL –
I ordered a digital copy of Adobie Element.
The copy of the software nor the installation code
was ever sent to me.
I’m fresh out of $90.00.
Buyer be aware.

Holy moly what a headache this was. I ordered a hard copy of this software. When received it was digital and the key would not work. I contact customer support via chat. She started a ticket but could not help me. She told me to call the next day so I did, only to be transferred 4 times because no one could help me with an invalid key. I tried entering it a number of times every which way and kept receiving same message, that key was not valid and to contact Best Buy. So I spent $160 on a program I cannot use because of a defective key and no one from Best Buy can help me. What a waste.
MartManJr –
Had to return it because my redemption code didn’t work. Adobe blamed Best Buy and Best Buy blamed Adobe so I decided to get another type software.
DavidW –
Adobe elements is great. Best Buy was a terrible experience. Best Buy failed to register the software when i bought it which caused me to waste over 2 hours with Adobe customer service folks. DO NOT BUY SOFTWARE FROM BEST BUY.
GoodDryer –
It didn’t work on my computer… cpu not new enough

RJKops –
Functional and a good value for someone learning the ropes of digital editing
Dandesuomi –
This program is my favorite one to edit with. It’s really easy to use
RobertK –
The program is great and I would strongly recommend that you purchase the online download version rather than the physical copy sold in the stores.
TechGuy –
The product will get the job done but to me all the assistance built in the program restricts the user too much and you have to figure out a work around instead of having the freedom to manipulate your canvas. I will be looking for another option.
Maybe if your already familiar with this software it’s no big deal but coming from photoshop I’m highly disappointed.
KHALIDR –
Absolutely the worst purchase ever, ordered it online went to the store the next day and picked it up in person to find out there is no physical disc in the box followed the instructions from the silly cardboard box, open a account with Adobe and after wasting my time ……. guess what the registration code does not work DO NOT BUY
Chris –
Purchased this in store and redemption code does not work .. dont waste your time at best buy ..
Aaron –
Great buy easy to use and start off with my photo hobby
John –
I could not rate this software as it said the code in the box was inactive when I logged into Adobe. Thus, I could never install it. I went back to Best Buy and obtained another Elements (Ph & Pr). Even though the activation code on the receipt was the same as the box exterior code, it still was inactive. Returned the second.
NancyF –
Adobe is always a great product to buy for many applications
Unknown –
Great editing software for pictures and for movies
ChastityW –
So far it’s been great. Only giving 4 stars because I thought it was disc version but it’s a code u download but you can use the code on any device.
JimL –
First the product is fantastic (that’s what gets the 5 stars). I’ve used Elements for years … it’s the only photo/video editing software I’ve ever used. Best Buy however sort of dropped the ball. The package was supposed to have a CD … it didn’t. Even the sales associate told me the UPC code indicated it had a CD when I purchased it. When I put the redemption code in to get my serial numbers, they didn’t work. I took it back to Best Buy and they were awesome – gave me a new box immediately (again no CD) and said if this one didn’t work bring it back for a refund. Took it home, and that number didn’t work either. So I chatted directly with Adobe. They got me my serial numbers in the end and said it was an issue with Best Buy (how, they didn’t say).
TexasJohnny –
Bought this boxed item thinking I was getting a CD version. It isn’t, just a code in the box for downloading. Not once, but twice Best Buy failed to activate the code meaning I couldn’t download it. Adobe finally fixed it so I could download it. Software works great!
ScottH –
Awesome product my wife loves to use. Just be careful when purchasing it in store because mine was never activated and had to call adobe support.
LonnieJ –
I cannot review this item because it will not allow to do so.
been back to best buy and said they cannot help me. when I
tried to download it say has not been release.
I going to contract my credit card account not to clear it until someone talk to me.
Higginsdad –
Worth the upgrade, I do enjoy new features in the latest version.
Disappointed –
If only I could actually give a review of this product! Purchased as Christmas gift and then it wouldn’t download via the scan code. Advised to bring back to the store for activation, a bit of an inconvenience however really wanted it. Got home and it still wouldn’t work!!! Not sure where the problem is, just frustrated and returned for a refund…no hard disk everything is digital and downloaded on-line. There are other options weighing in on what to do going forward.
boombox –
It is a nice program, but I had to contact adobe and have them install it because the code numbers were no good. once I got thru all of that, it works pretty good. When I tried to contact best buy, all I got was lip service. Fortunately I am good with programs, I pity anyone who tries to install this on thier own
Patfromme –
This was a Christmas gift. Adobe said it couldn’t be installed because it wasn’t activated. Ok, things happen. We took it back and they had to give him a new one because they couldn’t figure out how to activate one they had already sold. The second one also wasn’t activated. He took it back but BB didn’t want to give a refund because it was software, even though they couldn’t activate it. They finally agree to refund to a Gift Card under duress.
LENOVOLAPTOPCOMPUTER –
VERY GREAT PROGRAM, EASY TO MANAGE; VERY HELPFUL HINTS.
BenL –
Great item installed quickly and very user freindly
Gigglebox77 –
Was not best buys fault but had to call adobe to get it activated. Totally crazy.
myafchak1 –
I’ve used the professional versions for years at work and needed a trimmed down version for home editing of photos and videos. The interface is intuitive and the program has plenty of features to help make your projects shine!
Actioncamflix –
I got the boxed copy of this because it has both Mac and PC versions, if you buy the online version you can only get PC or Mac, not both. Inside is an activation code, not a SN. For whatever reason, mine did not work, getting an activation code error, and I had to go back to BBY and they said it WAS activated, but then required another extra step of getting help from Adobe chat to fix the activation problem. This is something to blame on Adobe, not Best Buy. This is something new since the 2023 version I purchased had the serial number in the box. Now you need to activate it first then you get a serial or registration code. The product itself is an improvement but the activation and registration process is very awkward and clumsy and that needs to be fixed by Adobe. For that reason minus one star! Be advised that you will need to download the software for installation, inside the box is the activation code that did not work out of the box as expected.
Brownee –
The redemption code included was invalid. Exchanged it and the redemption code in the new one is invalid too
melly –
Was not able to use the product as it’s system requirements exceed the average computer.
Trainbuff –
I have used Adobe Elements for years and have never been disappointed. I am always happy to see the new things they introduce with each successive update. It’s clear they listen to their customers and the results prove it.
John –
Nothing wrong with the software just wasted hours of my time after purchase getting it to sucessfully activate. Cant call store only help desk that didnt have a way to fix the issue finally had to contact adobe directly
SteveE –
I bought this Adobe software at the end of November, 2023 and didn’t try to install it until mid January 2024. No software CD was included in the software box, only a piece of cardboard with a web address and a code. When I tried to install the software using the Adobe web address and code I received the message the the software code was not valid. I looked on the website for a phone number to call for help but couldn’t find one. I then tried to use the chat option on the website and was confronted with AI chatbot that couldn’t understand the simple problem of not being able to install the software. The AI chatbot repeatedly misunderstood my questions and offered help on things tat had nothing to do with software installation. I repeatedly asked to talk to a real person and had my request ignored time and time again. Somehow I finally got the AI chatbot to put me on a help callback list. When Adobe called I was speaking with a someone in India who was very difficult to understand, she finally passed my call on to another customer care worker and he was Indian as well, not as difficult to understand but still difficult. I have nothing against employing customer care people from other countries but they should be be able to communicate well in English. The second person told me that the problem with software installation of software purchased from Best Buy was well known and that he would help me with it. He said the problem was on Best Buys end and that they had failed to register the software that they were selling. If it was a well known problem why wasn’t that addressed by the AI chatbot? I wasted 15 to 20 minutes on chat and another 30 minutes struggling with conversations with customer service. I’m disappointed with both Best Buy and Adobe. Neither company seems concerned with their customers service. I’ll never buy software from Best Buy again and I wish that I could find a better alternative to Adobe software.
