    Looks great. Worked like a charm when I installed it. It did require finding appropriate software to move the WindowsOS and then quickly tweeking the BIOS to point to this drive. The Arconis software that you can download from the WD site was a disappointment. Ended up using EaseUS Patition Master which did the trick (clone a smaller drive to a bigger drive with an increased partition)

    I’ve been a Western Digital user for many years. I’ve never had one of their HDD fail and I’ve owned more than forty of them between my home and small office.

    I do replace drives that I use for backup on a regular basis (every 4-5 years based on usage) and that’s why I purchased this drive. I’m old and perhaps a little old fashioned which is why I’m still using HDD for backup. I recently bought an SSD to upgrade the primary drive in one of my laptops.

    I purchased three of these drives
    According to the Western digital web site, the warranty on the drives I just received runs out August 5, 2022. Even after I registered the drive the date did not change.

    I have a Black drive in my computer that has been humming right along for close to ten years now. When I got it, the date of mfg was only a few months before the purchase. After I registered it, the W.D. website showed a five year warranty period. Not so with these drives.

    Bought on sale. Five year warranty. Read and write speeds very good, almost no vibration, and totally silent for the first 10 hours or so of use. It then began making a loud howling mechanical noise. Noticed that the pitch of the howling did not vary as the drive spun down, indicating that it was some sort of mechanical resonance inside the drive. Erased the drive and returned to the store. Too bad, I otherwise really liked the drive but the mechanical noise suggested that it would likely soon fail, an “infant mortality” reliability issue for this particular drive.

    This was installed in a VCR (Video Security System). Works great and records as it should do. It’s quick to retrieve what video you want and it a quiet drive. I am Happy with it.

    Purchased as 2nd drive for new desktop computer. Easy to install, fit slot perfectly. Mounting screws included and cable was pre-installed in computer so connection was easy. PNP so drive was recognized automatically. Delivery to my local store was fast and pickup was efficient.

    So i bought this just to store photos on and when i installed it and realized it was fast enough to hold my games it literally was a game changer for me might not be as fast as ssd but man for the money i love it will recommend 10 out of 10

    Honestly great for the price. For a HDD it has beeter speeds than most SSD that are twice the price. Just had to get a chord with it but that was like $4. Totally worth it if yoy need better speeds to play games like Starfield (i literally had to buy it for my computer to be able to handle that game) but don’t have the money/space/time for a new SSD. Can’t recommend this enough
