    I was skeptical about this actually making a differnce but thought I would give it a try. I could see a difference in picture quality immediately after using this.
    It took me awhile, however, to figure out where to put the drops…there’s a little square at the bottom of the label..duh.

    Bought this to reduce the snow on the playback of my tapes. Followed the instructions but it did not improve the quality but instead removed the glossy outer layer of my drumhead. I used the liquid solution & the head did not look like this before using the product.

    Mom is sick with cancer and watches old VHS tapes on a all in one tv/vhs player. It began to have trouble playing those tapes, and they were showing fuzzy. I didn’t know what to do since they don’t make VHS/TV combos and she has a large collection she likes.

    So we decided to try cleaning the heads of the VHS recorder. This worked so well. Its just a tape with a hole that you put cleaning fluid in. You play it then rewind, and the tape cleans the heads. It worked well, and now mom is back watching her old films again.

    This is a great set, and I’m glad best buy still had it in stock.

    I still have many VHS tapes, but the VCR I have needed some maintenance. I bought the Best Buy Essentials VCR Video Head Cleaner as an economical way to improve function. There was a difference in picture quality, even though the VCR is 9 years old.

    This Best Buy essentials VCR Video Head Cleaner does an adequate job cleaning the heads of my VCR. It is easy to use. The videotape playback quality is improved. The head cleaner can be used multiple times.

    Works well for the first couple yses. Had to buy 2 of these as the first one had played through its tiny bit of tape and refused to rewind to the beginning so I can reuse it for a cleaning.

    Your basic helical scan head cleaner. Its all about the solution. Evaporates quickly. Can replace with grain ethanol or 95+% isopropyl.

    I am digitizing all my old family videos. I was pretty lucky to find this head cleaner seems it was the last one at Best Buy. So if you’re planning ahead find and buy one.

    I thought I couldn’t find this item in place but Best buy head cleaner for my VHF and it worked perfectly… I will be shopping at Best buy from now on because they give you better deals and if anything is wrong it will replace it.

    I would give this a zero stars if I could. I used this following all the instructions exactly. Put 3 drops in the designated hole. Pressed play for 20 seconds (timed it with my phone) pressed rewind and removed from vhs player. After that I tried to view a vhs tape – and no video would come thru only audio. I had already viewed this tape prior to the cleaning and it was playing fine. I decided it was just a fluke. I tried this same vhs cleaner tape on a different vhs player (that I had determined worked a bit better for my conversion of family vhs tapes to mp4 files). Followed the instructions exactly again when cleaning this vhs player. As soon as I was done same exact issue as the first time I used it on the other vhs player. Vhs would not play any video or audio and an actual message came up telling me to clean my heads on the machine. I eventually had to take the entire vhs player and carefully clean the heads with isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth to get it working again – something I really really didn’t want to do. Walk don’t run away from this device. It only makes things much worse.

    VHS tapes I’ve been recording and playing back on my many-year-old VCR (which I’m embarrassed to say I still use) were getting a bit “glitchy”. After using the cleaner, the video improved. It was easy to use.

    Im not sure who else is using VHS tapes these days but inevitably you’ll need a head cleaner and thankfully BestBuy accommodates those of us who grew up in the 80s and 90s.
