Perfect size, not too heavy, does not take up a lot of room and all size documents fit.

I was looking for something that I can keep some important documents, some valuable and so extra cash. I won’t replace a good old safe but if you don’t have much room or a funds to buy a safe this is a good alternative. Note I didn’t realize this but this thing is pretty heavy, it makes sense because it is very sturdy but if you want something lighter, honey well does of other ones but their are some compromises like lose of space. It is water resistant, I haven’t tested it but their is a pretty good seal on the lid. I also like how there is a no slam feature so it won’t pinch your finger. I can’t complain it will protect my documents from water and fire, it will secure your documents however keep in mind these types of thing aren’t the most secure, if someone want to break it open they could probably with some effort but it you want to keep your kids or spouse out this will do the job.

I was looking for a home safe to put important documents in. Primarily looking for fire protection. This safe is rated for 1 hour at 1700 degrees F….that is very good. You must look at that rating when purchasing a fire safe. This Honeywell safe weights about 55 pounds so it is solid. But remember that the actual storage capacity is much smaller than the overall size of this safe…but that is due to its thick and heavy fire protection encasement. It’s waterproof too. My wife was surprised it was so much smaller inside then out, but after explaining why that is a good thing she understood. I put silica jell packs in the safe to reduce moisture. Remember the safe must lay flat…not on its side. I would of liked to of stored it on its side, but were advised not to do that. Has a 7 year warranty. Lifetime fire replacement. I think it’s a well-built safe and one I highly recommend. Hope I never have to have it tested in real life, but glad I now have it. Watch some YouTube videos on this safe…it’s solid!

This sits on our floor and protects important papers. Fortunately we haven’t had to test it but with increasingly strong weather events (hurricanes, tornadoes, intense rain) it is comforting to have. No fires here, yet, but in 2020, anything is possible!

First of all, the Best Buy description of this item is not correct. It is not a “hanging file chest” but most people should realize this from the pictures provided on their web site. I had researched this item and was not looking for a hanging file chest. I was happy that Best Buy offered this safe as it showed as out of stock on other retailer’s web sites. It is quite heavy and appears to be well made. Hopefully I won’t have the opportunity to verify its fire and water resistance capabilities.

The right size and requirements for valuable paperwork & whatnot. Do not forget a packet or two of silica gel to keep those papers dry while they site safely from fire and water.

Sturdy build, good sized amount of storage that allows for 10×12 documents to lay flat inside. While it is great for secure storage, people need to be aware it is Not light-weight to move. Unless you regularly lift 50lb weights, you won’t be able to simply pick it up and move from room to room on a regular basis. Likely once you find a spot for it, it will stay there most of the time.

Nice size. Heavy, so you won’t want to move it much. Has room for several folders inside.

Seems to be good. It is very heavy. I wanted something to hold documents and this does that!

This is a good, sturdy home safe option. It holds more than our mid-sized safe deposit box at the bank and is much more economical. We got a good price match to a competitor’s listing. We wanted something fire and waterproof, and this was one of the few options that met both criteria while also not weighing too much for us to manage. Two things of note. One, it does not come with a hanging file as listed. And two, note that instructions say the safe has to be unlocked and left in the open position once per week to prevent moisture from accumulating inside. We were planning to store this in a difficult-to-access place to prevent easy access in the event of a home break-in, but having to air out once a week makes this impractical. It also means we have to use the key a lot more than we’d planned, and we are hoping not to have a problem with key breakage as has been mentioned in some other reviews for Honeywell safes.

Just as described. Perfect for what I need. Very sturdy.

Seems like a good purchase, which it would have had compartments inside for smaller items and the plastic lift latches comes off cheap but overall seems solid.

It is very heavy. I wish it had more space inside but only because i want to put everything in there. However, it is a very good size for just the basic important documents.
