    I would highly recommend a trim kit if you have an under counter microwave. It finishes the look. We did have to do some cutting on the trim kit so that it would sit evenly. Not sure if that was the fault of the builder or the trim kit itself.

    Bought this trim kit for the kitchen microwave. I was able to get an open box item so the price was a bit better. The kit to mount the microwave is metal and the trim kit is plastic. The price is a bit high for simple metal and plastic. It gets the job done and looks good.

    Would look great if you built the cabinet around the trim kit. Other than that it has lots of gaps around the microwave and sticks out quite a bit. Very cheap looking for a 170 dollar piece of plastic!!

    This is a great trim kit. However, I highly recommend you check which microwave you bought matching this trim kit before you buy this trim kit.

    I was extremely disappointed when I got this trim kit. When installed properly in our cabinet, it still has about a quarter inch gap from the face of trim kit to the cabinet face, so the whole microwave sticks out of the cabinet too. If you are looking at it straight on it looks ok I guess, but from the side it looks ridiculous and cheap! I was expecting something that would fit into the cabinet, not something that basically screws onto the face of the cabinet and sticks out 1/4 – 1/2″. Also, our cabinetry is white so the black plastic is incredibly obvious and clearly visible on the sides.

    We were replacing GE’s former spacesaver and this is the only model of microwave of any brand that will fit in our cabinet. If you have any choice, do not go with this trim kit. It’s a very expensive way to make your home look cheap and unfinished!

    Extremely poor design. Bigger than previous frame with HUGE gaps between edges of microwave. Diagonal wood screws at corners tears up your cabinets. Huge step down from previous design. Unfortunately not much competition in 24 inch built-in microwaves anymore.

    Horrible product did not fit when It was installed. Very disappointed in return policy really horrible experience my old one was such better quality plus easier to install and didn’t look horrific. Best Buy should be more understanding of time it takes to get things installed- after going through a house fire and trying to. Manage everything this was the last thing I needed to waste time energy and effort on,

    Fits our GE microwave perfectly. Our new cabinet is not ready yet, so we haven’t done the final install of the trim kit, but it should look good.

    Easy to install in the existing cabinet where the previous GE microwave and trim kit were installed. Larger gaps around the actual microwave and trim kit and this newer version is made out of plastic, unlike the metal of the original version.

    Absolute garbage. There are huge gaps around the microwave and this is just plastic junk. Do not buy.

    Home Depot didn’t have it and I’m so glad I decided to look at Best Buy. Getting an open box saved me a bundle! These trim kits are so expensive and GE makes it impossible to reuse an old one. Very happy with my purchase. There were no signs of this being used other than the box being open…

    My trim kit was missing the screws when it arrived. I am still trying to find the correct screws to assemble it. When contacting Best Buy they were not able to send me replacement screws. I am still looking for replacement screws. I am hopeful that it will be an easy assembly once I find screws that work.

    The At least 1/2” gap around the microwave makes it look lime it’s the wrong fit. The model I removed looked much better and fit much tighter around the microwave.
