TechO –
My 5-year Therabody journey has been an enthusiastic one, and with the release of the Pro Plus it’s taken me to other worlds of relief and enjoyment. It began after an overaggressive pre-run leg stretch. I’ll never forget the moment I pulled my leg up a millimeter too far. OOF! and OUCH! If that wasn’t punishment enough my doctor “ordered” me not to run, or even speed walk, for 3 months – OK, I couldn’t have gone far anyway.
When my convalescence ended I was petrified of stretching again. Running without loosening up was not an option though. I noticed the growing popularity of percussive massagers, especially with competitive athletes, so I considered it as a potential “warm up act.” Initially I bought a Theragun competitor. Hated it. Its thick stick handle was awkward to hold, and I was always pinching my fingers swapping out heads. I exchanged it for the Theragun Elite.
It was love at first use. Theragun clearly thought out the practicalities of holding a massager for reaching awkward areas with its ergonomic triangle handle. It’s a comfortable hold no matter what awkward place I’m trying to reach; back, shoulders, lower back, etc. It’s an infinitely more pleasant experience than a thick straight handle massager.
My other reason for loving the Theragun is it hits deeper into big muscle groups. The combination of a long 16mm amplitude and a wide speed range from 1700-2400 percussions per minute (PPM) is unique among percussive massagers. (Amplitude is the distance the arm moves in one complete back and forth cycle – the longer 16mm travel allows it to affect your muscles more deeply than, I think, any other brand massager.) I find amplitude, not fast speed, to be king. I rarely go above 2100 unless I have a really stubborn knot, and 1700 is nice for more smaller muscle groups and tendons.
ENTER THE COMPLETELY UPGRADED “PRO PLUS”
Until now I never felt the need to upgrade my Elite. When I heard about the Pro Plus my curiosity was off the charts. I had to try it and can say now it’s truly a new generation of joy with so additions and improvements, though a couple things I don’t like too. The headliner is the new heated massage head. It’s also now two massagers in one with the addition of a traditional vibration head. I’ll get into the details but if you are looking to upgrade, YES! If you are looking for your first percussion massager and do regular runs, walks, workouts, etc., bite the cost bullet here and get this one. It’s well worth the price of admission.
If you have an older Theragun, you’ll immediately notice the Pro Plus’s sleeker, more compact look. Its arm is shorter and “nubbier”. And unlike the Pro’s pivoting arm, the Pro Plus’s is fixed. I never used the Pro so I can’t say if this is true loss. The Pro Plus also doesn’t have the Pro’s removable battery. My Elite has a permanent battery like the Pro Plus. I’ve yet to experience charging issues with the Elite, though perhaps because I only use for a few minutes before and after my runs. The Pro Plus is different though because it offers more use cases. I use it not only for workout warmup and recover, but also for breathing exercises and relaxation. So, I am concerned about the Pro Plus battery being non-replaceable even by Therabody. It seems the entire, not inexpensive, massager just becomes e-waste when the battery is exhausted.
The last difference is important to Theragun upgraders. The Pro Plus heads twist on rather than snap on like previous Theraguns. This is a major improvement, but the old attachments are incompatible. For me the biggest loss is no more Duo Adapter that accommodates two heads on one attachment. Hopefully a Pro Plus version is in the works. ++++The new heads are also color coded for easier recognition since it’s easy to confuse one with another.
Build quality and materials is superior. Even the blue end cap is metal, not plastic. The multi-color OLED display (white, blue, and red), while small is readable to my older eyes. Icons are understandable and text is larger in lieu of miniature text with information overload. (If you need a bigger screen there is an app which I’ll discuss later). A rubberized sweatproof raised button and four directional tabs surrounding control the device. There is a small learning curve to navigate the massager, but after a few sessions it’s muscle memory – no pun intended.
The Pro Plus comes in a neoprene carry case. Still, I won’t be traveling with it as I travel ultra-light. Six different color-coded percussion heads target distinctive uses – quads, neck, feet, forearms, etc. Most interesting, and top reason to buy the Pro Plus, is the heated head. The Pro Plus also exclusively has a vibrating head, new for Theragun. More on the heads soon. Finally, included is a USB-A to USB-C cable. Why no USB-C to USB-C cable?
Now to the Pro Plus goodness. The differences between Pro and Pro Plus are large enough that the “Pro Plus,” name seems kind of a misnomer. It’s more like a Plus Pro than a Pro Plus because it’s really new from scratch and nails the “plusses” like a pro. Even from an everyday practicality perspective, the Pro Plus charges via USB-C rather than a clunky charger brick like older Theraguns. Yea!
The Pro Plus’s feature headliner has to be the new heated head. I’m addicted to this one. Percussion massagers, by design, pound your muscles. It’s rarely a great feel until your muscles loosen after a minute. Adding a comforting splash of heat both masks that initial pain and loosens me up quicker. The big “pay off” though is post-run when my muscles are actually sore. The heat really accelerates the calming process. And then there is the occasional tight neck and lower back. It even helps me in a pre-sleep routine.
My next favorite all-new feature is the vibration head. Like the heat head, this is a first for any Theragun, making it a true dual massager. I use this head on more sensitive areas like the back of my neck, feet, and Achilles. It’s also fantastic to finally have an option for delicate joints I wouldn’t go near with percussive. And, of course, it’s nice when you just want a Zen-like massage.
Speaking of Zen, another all-new and relaxing bit of tech wizardry included is a biometric finger sensor on the side of the handle. Used in tandem with the app’s breathing exercises, it helps put me in a more focused state of mine. Therabody recommends it for stress relief, but I also use it as part of my pre-run routine because, for me, it helps loosen my lungs for a run too. The routine is customized based on your heart rate taken from the biometric sensor and is designed to lower your heart rate. The app guides you when to breath in and breath out while the Pro Plus itself gently vibrates. It’s a really nice experience. The only long-term question I have is the “spa music” that accompanies it. It seems you can turn it off but you can’t change it. I imagine after a while hearing this same music might get a bit tedious and counteract the relaxing purpose of this routine. Hopefully an update will allow for different tunes or adding your own. (At no extra charge, of course).
The all-new doesn’t stop there. Infrared LED light therapy is offered via an LED panel on the outer front handle. It’s 100% user programmable – on/off and brightness. Supposedly it boosts blood circulation. I haven’t experienced it long enough to honestly say if it actually works, and I definitely don’t understand the science behind it. Regardless, it’s 100% user controllable – off/on and brightness — so I see it as a “bonus.” Nice to have if it does what it’s supposed to do, no loss if it’s a marketing gimmick.
USING THE PRO PLUS, WITH AND WITHOUT APP
Like every Theragun (except maybe the mini), the Pro Plus can be used in manual mode for an unlimited amount of time at whatever speed you like. Alternatively, there is “routine mode,” where pre-baked routines for pre-workout, post-workout, bedtime, back pain, etc., guide you, complete with pictures of exactly where to place the massager. You can select up to 5 different routines to be available on-device. The others are also available in the app. The app itself is intuitive, inviting and 100% free. I say this because I’ve read a lot of uniformed comments online that it’s a required subscription. 100% false. Therabody does offer additional features by in-app subscription but that’s separate from everything discussed in this review.
“Routine mode,” guides the user though the routine with an on-screen diagram of where to correctly place and how to move the massager, or in the app it shows a video. It also sets the suggested speed and starts (with a countdown timer) and stops the routine so you don’t over do it. This is perfect for learning beginners or anyone who needs a quick no-fuss session. The routines are modifiable for personal preference. One advantage to starting off with the app vs the on-screen instructions is that the app guides the user to the optimal pressure to apply.
Displaying these routines on screen is exclusive to Therabody’s “pro” models. My old Elite only offered routines via app so I can say using it on device is a lot less clumsy than having to juggle a phone and massager. Of course, the breathing routines do require the app.
CONCLUSION
The Pro Plus in my mind is an all-new model with new features unavailable on any other Theragun model. I still regard my Elite as stellar, but the Pro Plus is incomparable and my new “must have” for its heat, vibration, and heart rate/breathing exercise abilities. Time will tell if the Infrared is included in that list. So, if you are looking at other percussion massagers, and you do regular exercise of any kind, I think features in the Pro Plus are worth the extra coin. I justify the cost not only on the new features. While I am concerned about long-term battery life, extrapolating from my Elite experience, I’m banking on the Pro Plus to be just as durable for years long enjoyment.
Parker –
Let’s start off this review with the build quality. The Therabody Theragun Pro Plus build quality is pretty nice and it feels premium. It has a
Nice weight to it ( weighs 2.45 pounds) and the grip portions have a hard rubber finish while the upper portion that houses the motor and LCD screen is plastic but doesn’t feel cheap at all. I’ve had no name brand massage guns before and the instant you pick it up you can tell it is cheaply made. Speaking of the LCD screen it is a very nice one too. The display is clear and the icons are pretty self explanatory. If you’re not using the app you can access a quick start routine menu from the Theragun Pro Plus menu using the the controls below the screen which are nice rubberized buttons which have a good click to them when pressed. You can also cycle through some preset routines here that range from sleep prep, back pain, breathing etc.
Inside the box besides the unit itself you’ll get a nice two sided zippered carry bag. One side houses all the included attachments and the other side that house the massage gun itself is a nice felt lined material that will keep your Theragun Pro Plus in new condition. The tips included are vibration attachment, heat, micro point, thumb, dampener, standard ball and wedge. You will also receive a usb c charging cable and quit force solution ( oil ).
Now let’s talk about using the Therabody Theragun Pro Plus. I like to mainly run and hike with some occasional biking. I am getting older and I’ve notice after my runs I’ve been experiencing a lot of cramping. I have been using the heat attachment ( my favorite attachment) to warm up my hamstrings before my runs and I feel noticeable difference during my runs as I usually don’t stretch or loosen up before running. After running I like to use the dampener attachment along my calves and thighs and let me tell you that my cramps have disappeared. I also like to use the post run recovery routine on the app if I’m not in a rush and it is useful for beginners. I also do experience lower back pain after lifting weights and again I use the heat attachment and hand the Theragun Pro Plus to my wife and let her follow the lower back pain routine on the app. You can really feel the heat penetrating into your muscles long after your session is done and it feels amazing for recovery.
Another thing to note on the app and unit itself you can see how much pressure you are applying displayed by a bar that moves up and down. Now I thought this was really smart as it allows you to keep even pressure throughout a session and no guessing if you’re pushing too much or too little. It really aids in your recovery. There is also a biometric reader under the grip portion than can measure your heartbeat. Use it in conjunction with the the breathing routine Theramind Sound Therapy on the app to help you relax and calm down. I was skeptical about this but it really helped my relax and practice my breathing which I have been trying to work on and now I have a tool that I can keep track with. Another feature that the Theragun Pro Plus has is near infrared LED light therapy. There are red LED lights on the unit that’s Therabody claims that can help with recovery now this the one thing about the unit I am not too sure that has any benefit.
Overall I would recommend this product do to its features and build quality. If you’re looking for a massage gun for workout recovery or even if you suffer from pain in general i would get this.

I am a long-distance runner and after a long run, my lower back feels tight and sore. I have been looking for a good percussion massager, but I have had issues in the past using too much pressure and poor technique. Theragun has helped me with these issues with the latest app update for the Theragun PRO Plus.
There isn’t too much to say about the setup and use without the app, other than this percussion massager is pretty good with quite a few different heads to try out. What made me most impressed is the app. The added walk-through with videos, instructions to change to certain heads, and the optimal pressure indicator, makes this percussion massager better than the rest. The videos helped ensure I was using proper technique while the pressure indicator made sure I did not apply too much pressure. Honestly, the app makes me feel like I had a personal assistant helping me out. There are 13 programs in the app, but you can only load 5 at a time to the device (see photo).
The Theragun PRO Plus was pretty quiet at 68 decibels from 4 inches away. I could easily carry on a conversation without this massager making it difficult to hear. The heated head worked pretty well on direct skin contact, but I could not really feel it through clothes. My favorite head to use was the dampener on my lower back. There is an additional head with 3 cold settings, which I have plans to purchase this once it becomes available.
The battery life was pretty good as I have had to charge it only once within 5 days. It also seemed to charge quickly, so the battery life should not be a concern.
Pros
App (What makes this great)
5 loadable activities (can change in the app)
Quite motor
Battery life
Large variety of heads included
Cons
None so far
I would recommend this percussion massager for tired, sore muscles and to help with warmups and recoveries. The app is what makes this percussion massager the best on the market. I felt I have received a much better benefit from its use since the app provided guidance.

I have owned in percussion guns and this Theragun pro plus blows all of them out of the water….
So a little bit of background of my athletic endeavors.
I have been active with various sports over the years and it wasn’t until I got injured in a contact sport that I appreciate various tools to help alleviate and control pain.
I suffer from herniated cervical and lumbar vertebrae discs and often get muscles that tense up and cause for pain in my extremities.
I have used percussion guns in conjunction with tennis ball and foam rollers to help release lactic acid that impinges my nerves.
So after I do my weekend road bike I need percussion my back and calves due to lactic acid build up and to reduce inflammation.
Theragun takes it to the next level. The automatic function along with specific heads creat a specific target zone for these areas.
The Handle on the gun is ingenious….. it allows for easier gripping and ability to apply pressure to different parts of the body that are hard to reach and sustain and longer hold.
There is also the option to buy a head that you can ICE to create a cold pack and combine with the percussion.
Also the heated head along with LED heat helps with muscle recovery as well.
Wow. What a difference between knock off percussion guns vs Theragun…
The app is also pretty cool. Different options for different pre or post exercises. App is easy to use and toggle.
Battery life is decent as well.
I can’t speak enough the build and quality.

I used my old theragun so much, I completely wore out one of the attachments. This new one is a step up in several ways, some of them useless. One thing that I really, really like is the heated tip. It doesn’t put out a ton of heat, and you need to move it around more slowly to feel the heat, and it needs to be on bare skin to feel the heat, but it does add a lot to the percussive massage. There is also a cold tip available, but you have to buy that separately, so I haven’t tried it. I think I would get more out of the heat than the cold anyway. This new model also does away with the swappable rechargeable battery. It’s not that big of a deal to just plug in the gun rather than the battery charger, so I don’t think you’re losing much that way. In a typical session, which I’m estimating at around ten minutes or so, with the heat going (but not the -IMO useless- LED lights), I’m only using 30-35% of the charge. The display helpfully shows you the battery level while charging, but not while using. You also can no longer change the angle of the gun, but I honestly never did that with the old one. The new model has more fine tuning of the speed, and you can also adjust the level of heat, but unless the heat is on high, I really can’t feel it that much. The display can also show you how hard you’re applying pressure. When used in combination with the app, it will tell you whether you’re pressing too hard, too little, or “optimal.” The controls on the gun are sufficiently intuitive, though it took me a few minutes of fooling around with it until I got it down. The app is much less useful to me. I have a routine that I like to use, and unless I try to build that routine in the app, it’s not going to follow what I want to do. Maybe if you’ve never used a massage gun and need to be shown the proper technique, it could be useful. It is easier to directly modify the speed, heat, and light in the app, but it’s not worth carrying my phone into the gym room for that slightly improved functionality. One last thing about charging: you need your own high wattage charging brick. The cable it comes with has an adapter to use either USB A or C as an input, but when I plugged it into a low wattage USB A port, it not only did not charge (though the status showed as charging), it actually *lost* battery level. When I plugged into a higher wattage USB C brick, it charged fine, though. Honestly, I would recommend upgrading to this model just for the heated tip, but there are a lot of other bells and whistles that are essentially useless for my purposes.

Whether you’re athletic, health-conscious, or just prone to everyday aches and pains, the Theragun PRO Plus is your answer for advanced preparation and recovery. With multiple gun attachments, a clear on-screen display, and an intuitive, easy-to-follow app, the PRO Plus covers everything to keep you in the best condition before and after a workout or activity.
In my family, the kids play soccer, basketball, and run track, keeping them fit and active year-round. My wife has daily F-45 classes and the occasional 5-10K events, while I am an avid pickleball and tennis player. The Theragun PRO Plus is the perfect device for each one of us. It has a routine for almost any activity and body part, and when connected with the app, getting warmed up or cooled down is completely hassle-free.
The device packaging is sturdy, and as you open it, it has step-by-step instructions for uncovering this fitness gem from the box. Inside you will find the Theragun PRO Plus along with a small manual, several attachment heads, charging cable, and a large Neoprene case that comes with content listing under the flap. The dual zippers separating the gun layer and the attachment layer is a nice touch.
This device is pretty hefty, but routines do not last longer than ten minutes or so, and most have periods of alternating attachment heads or shifting hands to keep you from feeling the weight too badly. Following a routine on the app is by far the recommended way to go, as most routines have full video tutorials on how to hold and position the gun, along with real-time optimization for applying the proper pressure on your body areas. With the app, you can also save personalized therapies and activity-specific routines, and with your permission, data from connected activity trackers and apps can be used to optimize your prep and recovery as well.
If the app isn’t readily available to you, the small LCD screen is just as easy to follow, with uploaded routines such as sleep prep and back pain as well as a customizable quick start option to get you up and running again in no time.
With seven attachments that provide unique routines, I found the dampener and heat attachment heads to be the most useful. Attaching and detaching is very quick, with a sharp twist in the corresponding direction on the front of the gun. This device is also equipped with infrared LED lights for another layer of therapy that is applied simultaneously with vibration, heat, and percussive therapies. Oddly, a cold therapy attachment is sold separately. The Theragun PRO Plus is not waterproof, and its rechargeable battery runs for around two hours before needing a fill-up.
Applications of this device present huge benefits, from a daily massage for reduced tension and stimulating circulation, to post-workouts and high-level activities for reducing pain and improving recovery. The Theragun PRO Plus is easy to use and provides instant relief and results. Don’t settle for less when it comes to your health and well-being.

Like everyone, my recovery time after workouts is getting longer with age. I’ve also had some recurring upper back pain and tension the past few years and have tried several different vibrators and massagers with no real luck. Enter the new Theragun Pro Plus. It’s incredibly versatile and offers a ton of adjustability and attachments, but it does have some drawbacks.
=== UNBOXING AND SETUP ===
Even if you’ve never used a high-end massage gun like this one, you won’t have any problems setting this up. It’s pretty much ready to go out of the box. The Theragun Pro Plus comes with a large, plush carrying case that holds the device and all included attachments. The attachments are very easy to swap with a simple twist. There is a bright LCD display at the top of the device and a button pad that lets you cycle through six pre-set massage modes and a settings menu. The first thing I did was download the Therabody iPhone app and paired the device with the app. I would highly recommend doing this, since the app walks you through tutorials and demonstrations of all of the Theragun’s attachments and other features. Also worth noting is that the gun charges via USB-C, so there are no proprietary adapters or chargers to worry about.
=== FEATURES AND USE ===
The Theragun Pro Plus is loaded with features for professional athletes and regular people alike. The biggest selling points of the Pro Plus model are more intense percussive therapy (up to 16mm), near-infrared light therapy, vibration therapy, and hot/cold therapy. Compared to the regular Pro model, the Pro Plus also has a built-in biometric sensor that can detect your heart rate and assist with breathing exercises. You can start using the Theragun immediately by using the “quick start” option on the device itself, but to get the most out of the device, I find myself using the Theragun app. The app has routines for almost all use cases, including workout recovery, upper and lower body pain, sleep prep, yoga warm-ups, and more. By selecting one of these routines, the app walks you through exactly which attachment to use and precisely where to aim the gun on your body. It will also tell you whether you are applying too much pressure and allows you to adjust the percussive speed. Of course, you can do some of this without the app by using the LCD screen on the gun, but it’s not as seamless.
The upper back pain and neck pain routines have made a big difference for me over the past few weeks. There is noticeably less tension and pain in my upper back, and I love how the app guide me through exactly what to do. Similarly, by using the gun after weightlifting and running workouts, my soreness and tightness during recovery has been greatly reduced. I do find myself adjusting the percussive speed/intensity to the lowest settings, since some of the faster/higher settings can feel borderline painful. So if you’ve only used vibrating massagers in the past, it might take you some time to adjust to the feeling of percussive therapy. My only other complaints are that the gun is quite heavy to use for extended periods of time, especially if you are trying to reach anywhere on your back. It might not be an issue if you have someone else who is going to hold and apply the Theragun for you. But if you’re using it solo, holding and maneuvering the Theragun Pro Plus can be a workout in and of itself.
You’ll have to decide for yourself whether some of the other “Pro Plus” features are worth it for you. The built-in LED for light therapy is a novel feature, but I haven’t noticed any immediate benefits by having the light on. Similarly, the biometric heart rate sensor could be useful if you plan on utilizing the breathing and sleep prep routines in the app, but I don’t see myself using it very frequently.
=== OVERALL ===
The Theragun Pro Plus is an amazingly capable device and is likely one of the most advanced massage guns on the market. Serious or professional athletes will probably be the ones to take fullest advantage of all the cutting-edge features offered here, but even regular people/athletes will benefit from the power of the Theragun Pro Plus. Personally, this is now an indispensable device for managing my upper back pain and making my recovery after workouts more tolerable. I do wish the ergonomics of the device were a bit better, since it can be difficult to reach certain areas on my back. But paired with the Therabody smartphone app, people of all ages and fitness levels can use the Theragun Pro Plus with ease.
David –
The Theragun Pro Plus is an absolutely fantastic massage gun. This is my first Theragun product, and I am absolutely blown away. I have never used a percussive massager before, and I don’t know how I have lived without it. This thing is feature packed. It includes 7 different massage tips, charging cable, carrying case, and of course, the massager itself. It also features led lights for light therapy, bluetooth for connecting to the smartphone app, a biometric sensor for guided breathing therapy, and a color screen to guide you step by step through routines. There is so much that this massager can seem a bit intimidating at first. The different tips included are the standard ball, heat attachment, vibration attachment, micro point, thumb, wedge, and dampener. Again, it was a bit intimidating at first all of the different attachments, but they include documentation to help, and also the device itself can guide you, as well as the smartphone app, which goes into even more detail with each of the routines. The more I have used it, the less intimidating it becomes. and the more I really appreciate all the different options provided. Actual performance of this massage gun is where it really shines. I am an avid cyclist, so that was my main test. I usually so some stretches before a ride, and then either stretches, a massage gun (cheap, not theragun), or a foam roller afterward. To test the theragun, I decided to use the guided warm-ups instead of my usual routines, and guided recovery routines afterward. I was blown away with first of all, how easy it was, and second, how effective they were. The warm-ups really get the blood flowing and the muscles ready for your workout. I could definitely tell the difference. And the recovery was fantastic. It was much easier than foam rolling, and way more effective than my usual static stretches, or my cheap massager. I felt like this really gave me a good effective massage that aided in my recovery. I am very happy with this massager, and the more I use it, the more I realize how versatile it actually is. Anyone who is even remotely interested in this should absolutely get it. Even the features I thought were overkill are very useful. I found myself using the guided breathing more than I would’ve expected. And the smart phone integration is fantastic, allowing you to try so many guided routines that I never would’ve known about, and also cutting down on the intimidation factor of all the different tips provided. I can’t recommend enough.

Review for
Theragun PRO PLUS
I was excited to try this new version of the Theragun when I learned it came with app support for specific sports and activities.
I lead a very athletic lifestyle, enjoying hiking, biking, swimming, weightlifting, rowing, and biking. But I have to admit, as I get older, pains come easier and recovery can be slower.
Enter the Theragun PRO PLUS! With tools designed for muscles and joints, it can add heat (included) and even cold (purchased separately). The device itself is well-made and feels solid in your hands. Its triangle design facilitates easy holding at various angles for reaching and massaging any muscle group.
I gave it a good test run (no pun intended) before a 15 mile hike recently. Using the app before I left, I was able to do a warmup for my legs. Upon my return, I used the recovery session for my legs, but also for my feet and lower back. The hike was great, but the recovery workout made me feel rejuvenated almost as if I *hadn’t* just hiked 15 miles!
On a less active day, I tried out some of the breath work activities in the app. It was wonderfully relaxing. I also found the new sleep breathing activity using the 4-7-8 technique that I knew about but had never tried. Also a keeper for those restless nights!
My wife, who suffers from asthma, often gets tight muscles in her upper back. The wedge tool and the vibration tool made quick work of her tightness is those areas. She had high praise for the results!

Out of the box the overall presentation is nice. The soft side case has two sides. (top and bottom compartments)
On the top, each attachment is separated with a description on the top flap. The bottom of the case holds the Theragun Pro Plus. I do wish the case was hard sided instead of soft for more protection.
Each attachment is well built and now twists on/off the Theragun instead of plug and pull. It is easier and quicker to change heads. However all the old attachments are no longer compatible due to this change. So I can’t use the soft foam or duo adapter from my pervious model on this new PRO Plus.
The new attachments such as vibration works well and does what it suppose to. It vibrates without the percussion and used for more sensitive areas where your bones are. The heated attachment is great and heats up fast and the best this is you don’t have to charge it separately and the function is integrated with the Theragun. I have the cold attachment on order and I’m sure it’s great too.
Hear rate monitor- Easy to use by putting your finger on it and the Theragun provides haptic feedback on when to inhale and exhale. Great function but I could have been ok without it by lowering the price of the unit or include the cold attachment.
LED Light- At first I thought it would be ineffective but you do being to feel the infared heat when used in the same area for a longer period of time. Depending on how you hold the Theragun, at times you could block the light with your hands/fingers.
Massage- Same feel with the 16mm Amplitude. I do feel that it is slightly quieter than the pervious pro model. However the stall force is a bit weaker. Shouldn’t be a problem unless you are pressing hard against the part you are massaging. Battery life is on par with pervious model but it does drain faster if you have the heat, light and massage on all at the same time.
$600 is alot to spend on a massage gun but I do feel its worth it. If this is your first Theragun and want all the bells and whistle, then this is the one to purchase. If you have the pervious gen Pro or elite then spending another $600 to update is hard to swallow. If you think the heat/cold, heart rate, Led light and vibration is useful, then go for it. As of right now this is the king of massage guns.

The Theragun PRO Plus is the next generation of Theragun – a spectacular post work-out recovery tool. Using the PRO Plus has become part of my cool-down post recovery routine and is a splendid addition to off day activities. The Theragun engages not only soft tissue but muscles depending on treatment head and setting, a beautiful self-administered therapy. I am trained in osteopathic manipulation and it has always been a bummer to not be able to treat oneself, but now I feel empowered with this therapy tool. The head is fixed, but handle is all around to allow for a comfortable hold on the Theragun while reaching whatever desired treatment area. The Theragun PRO Plus has vibration therapy to target joints and sensitive areas. I have been applying this to my left knee post activity, with a noticeable reduction in post-activity pain/discomfort. There is a heat therapy head for muscle tension/soreness. I have been able to use this on my lumbar area with marked relaxation of muscles both after exercise and a long work-day sitting. There are 5 other tools included, which out of them all I have used the Wedge tool the most. Designed for shoulder blades and IT band specifically (but available for use wherever) I have utilized my wife to apply therapy most evenings to my shoulder blades. The wedge is able to adapt to treating the rhomboids well, “wedging” between blade and spine. I am thrilled to have the multiple treatment heads depending on goal, along with adjustable frequencies for treatment.
There is a build-in infrared LED light to provide infrared light therapy. Light therapy is a technique that is not often utilized and by allowing for application of light therapy in conjunction with mechanical therapy one reaps added benefit. The light therapy may be toggled off easily if needed.
Therabody has available an application that may be connected via Bluetooth to the Theragun PRO Plus to enhance treatment experience. One may choose a pre-designed setting/routine and treatment through the app, adding a more robust treatment – but the app is not required and treatments may be administered through adjustments with the interface on the Theragun. Allowing for treatment on the go.
Of note, there is an attachment that is not included with the PRO Plus but may be purchased separately at this time. This is the Cold attachment to help with reduction of pain, inflammation and swelling. Given my satisfaction with the base attachments, I do plan to invest in this additional add-on; not a necessity but I love cold therapy.
All in all, Therabody does it again with the Theragun. This is not my first product from Therabody and will not be the last. Cutting edge technology for quicker recovery. I absolutely notice a difference both immediately and days after using the Theragun

I owned the original Theragun for a number of years, and being an athlete I’ve dependent on it often to aid in warm-up and recovery. I thought about upgrading many times, but most of the past upgrades from the original Theragun have been well-done but minimal–quieter, smaller, etc. The Pro Plus is the first upgrade, at least that I know of, that offers features that go well beyond percussion.
Theraguns have always been really good at their base functionality… soothing sore tired muscles, getting muscles warmed up for activity, relieving joint pain. But the new Pro Plus takes things much further. Besides the typical attachments like the wedge and the standard ball, it also comes with a dampener for sensitive areas, a micro point attachment for increasing stimulation and circulation, and a thumb attachment for trigger points and knots. But for me, the most exciting new attachments are the vibration attachment and the heat attachment. A cold attachment is also available for purchase, but it’s not included, so I haven’t had a chance to try it yet. These new attachments make the Theragun very complete. The vibration attachment helps to increase blood flow, and the heat attachment, though I’m sure it has its own benefits, just feels amazing!
The Therabody app is amazing! There are pre-made programs you can select that will cause the Theragun to activate and then detailed instructions with videos in the app to guide you. There are also breathing exercises to help you sleep, to help you reduce your heart rate, and to relieve stress.
I don’t have room to tell you about all the features the Pro Plus has, but I’ll say this; if you’re a human being, much less an athlete, the Pro Plus will definitely increase the quality of your life. And if you’ve previously owned a Theragun, this is definitely a worthy upgrade.

Whether it be after a long workout, a run, or even a hard days work, this gun has you covered whether you want a light massage or deep tissue to really workout any tension or cramps. Having the previous 5th generation model and now this newer Plus model at the same price point, you really get a lot more bang for your buck. Theragun really “brings the heat” now with their new heated attachment. They also added led light therapy and also a biometric sensor now which tells you your heart rate. One thing I liked that they added was the charging cord can be usb type C to usb type C or on one end you have a normal usb plug that conceals the type C end for normal usb usage. I tend to carry a portable battery pack so I found this very helpful because it was a fast charging pack with only a usb type C port. Another physical change I noticed is the device itself is more girthy. I myself have large hands so this was a big plus for me as far as handling.
One thing that I wouldn’t say is a negative but is lost in this new Plus version is the adjustability in the head to different positions. This new Plus version is not adjustable. So where as you could straighten it outward previously you can no longer do that. So trying to get some areas might be a little awkward. Also I want to note the way the heads now attach has also changed where as they use to pop on and off, now they twist in and lock. Unfortunately making you unable to use other heads you may or may not have from prior models with this new model. They would be wise to come up with some type of attachment to adapt and allow you to use the older heads with this newer model. Battery life is still excellent but its now permanently internal and not removable to charge externally and cannot have multiple batteries unfortunately.
In the box it comes with a really nice padded carrying case that fits and protects everything included. And believe me for the price of this you want to keep it protected! It has a outline info on the flap of the bag over each compartment for each of the included attachment heads. One of my favorite features is the LED screen (right on the handle) with guided workouts that give you a visual display of what part of the body you’re working on and where exactly to place the tip to get the best outcome. You can do even more by conveniently using the app and choosing what routines suit you best connecting by Bluetooth, no wires necessary! It’s definitely on the higher price point for massage guns that I’ve seen, but in my opinion, they couldn’t have done a better job or put anymore into this to make it better. I’d definitely recommend it to others

I used to powerlift when I was in the Army and 20 years younger. With time, however, warm up and recovery take much much longer than they did. So back then, I would have never considered getting a recovery device, but recently I started looking for one.
A few companies jumped out when I began researching. The Theragun Pro Plus stands for a few reasons. The Therabody app connected to the Theragun Pro Plus as simply as picking out the very clearly labeled icon with a picture of the device, then tapping the button. There are quite a few Therabody devices, but using pictures of each device as thumbnails was so intuitive. Then, the Pro Plus’s main differentiation is the new infrared heated massage head. The head has a gentle shape that works together with the heated element to promote blood flow and healing, according to the instructions. Personally, what I can say is that I do CrossFit 4 times a week and run on my off days. Combining the “lower body recovery” routine on the app and then targeted massages with the Pro Plus to lats and other upper body groups after workouts, I have noticed significantly less and shorter soreness on a routine basis.

I had the original Theragun and have loved it. It’s been extremally beneficial for me and my family and over the years we’ve even used it with our kids as they’ve been getting more into competitive sports, exercising, lifting, etc. Well that old unit has seen better days and was starting to break down, and the original unit is pretty heavy and awkward to hold. Time to upgrade! I figured if I was going to upgrade I may as well get the top of the line unit… and this definitely is the best of the best! On the old unit, it could be hard to add/remove the attachments because you had to push/pull them on and off. Sometimes they’d get stuck on there and be hard to remove. I like the new twist on/off feature for attachments on this model. Much easer for me or my wife to use. There are sooo many features on this model compared to my old one! My old one just had the percussion massage feature, this model has that of course, but also heat therapy, infrared therapy, vibration therapy, and I can even add on cold therapy…. wow! It also provides personalized feedback that displays your heart rate… That’s awesome! My favorite features so far have ben the vibration and heat…. GAME CHANGER! That’s something I wished for on the old unit because sometimes you need vibration instead of percussion. Highly recommend this unit!

As someone who actively spends weekends running and doing light weight training, the need for an efficient recovery tool is vital. The Theragun Pro Plus has proven to be an invaluable addition to my fitness regimen.
Starting with the 5 massage attachments – the variety ensures I have the perfect tool for every ache and pain.
The Standard Ball is my go-to for general muscle soreness, while the Thumb and Micro-point are exceptional for deep tissue precision.
The Wedge has been perfect for scraping and flushing out lactic acid after those intense training sessions.
One of the standout features for me is the Heat Therapy Attachment, Post-run, it’s a godsend. Applying heat while massaging has taken my recovery to the next level, making my muscles feel more relaxed and ready for the next session.
The Vibration Therapy Attachment also provides a unique sensation that seems to awaken and invigorate my muscles.
Being able to edit different routines in the app for the device has been incredibly useful.
The Sleep Prep routine is a favorite of mine, helping me get a good night’s rest, ensuring I’m fresh for my next workout.
And after those occasional over-enthusiastic weight sessions, the Back Pain and Lower Body Recovery routines have been lifesavers.
The LCD screen with visually guided routines is user-friendly, making it easy even for someone who might not be too tech-savvy. Plus, the guided breathwork with haptic feedback genuinely helps in calming the body and mind post-workout. It’s like having a personal meditation guru at your fingertips.
The built-in biometric sensor gives personalized insights which, for someone like me who loves data, is a huge bonus. It makes the recovery process feel tailored to my body’s specific needs.
Ergonomically, it’s a dream. The ergonomic grip ensures that I can reach those tricky spots without straining my hand or wrist.
And the combination of LED light therapy while massaging? Genius. I’ve genuinely noticed a boost in my healing process since I started using this feature.
But what truly stands out is the sheer power of the device. The claim of it being their “strongest, deepest percussive massage therapy at 16mm” isn’t just a marketing line. The depth of the massage ensures that even the deepest aches are addressed.
Finally, as a weekend warrior, knowing that this device is US FDA Registered and has scientifically proven benefits makes me confident in its safety and effectiveness.
In summary, the Theragun Pro Plus isn’t just a recovery tool; it’s an investment in my health and fitness journey. It’s helped me relieve pain, recover faster, treat my joints, improve my mobility, and overall enhance my performance. For any fitness enthusiast, I’d wholeheartedly recommend it.

I had some time to use the newest Theragun and so far, I am loving it. After incorporating the Theragun PRO Plus into my post-activity routine, it’s safe to say this device has drastically transformed my recovery process. Here’s a deep dive into what makes this tool a game-changer:
Post-Activity Recovery:
Following some recent hikes and weightlifting sessions, the Theragun PRO Plus has been instrumental in alleviating muscle soreness and tension. Its deep muscle percussive massage has made the recovery process quicker and more efficient, preparing me for my next activity.
Travel-Friendly Design:
Planning to take it on longer hikes, I’m impressed with the soft enclosure case. With its double-sided design, not only does it offer ample storage for the Theragun and its accessories, but it also ensures the device is well-protected during travels. One side of the case neatly stores the five different tips and the charger cable, while the other snugly fits the Theragun.
Battery Life:
The battery life of the Theragun PRO Plus deserves a special mention. It allows multiple massage sessions before the need for a recharge, making it highly convenient for those on the go or during longer outdoor activities.
Features Galore:
The addition of red light therapy with the red LEDs is a thoughtful touch, merging the benefits of light and massage therapy. With five speeds to choose from, it caters to various needs, from gentle relaxation to deep tissue massage. The App-guided routines and the LCD screen provide a more interactive and user-friendly experience. I love the videos the app provides, they are easy to follow and guide you through many different types of messages. I also love that the screen will let you know if the pressure you are applying is too soft, too much, or just right. Heat therapy, vibration therapy, and guided breathwork are bonuses that elevate the overall massage experience. The ergonomic grip ensures that using the device is comfortable and strain-free, while the biometrics sensor adds an advanced touch to this already impressive tool.
Recommendation:
Whether you’re an avid hiker, a weightlifter, or someone simply seeking relaxation and muscle relief, the Theragun PRO Plus is a worthy investment. Its wide array of features, combined with its effective performance, makes it stand out in the crowded market of recovery tools. This upgraded version has surpassed my expectations, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to others. An absolute must-have for both the active individual and those looking for some quality relaxation time.

This Theragun PRO PLUS message device distinguishes itself as the top-tier percussion therapy device in the market. The moment I unboxed and examined the device, its meticulous craftsmanship, and use of premium materials became apparent, emphasizing its premium quality. Therabody has established a sterling reputation among athletes, healthcare professionals, and even myself who engage in workout and physical activity, making it the most trusted and reputable name in the field.
This sixth-generation tool is exceptionally innovative in its approach to addressing muscle pain, tension, and soreness that occurs after a workout or any physical need. It offers a remarkable 2,400 percussions per minute (with adjustable speed), effectively targeting deep tissues to relieve muscle tension, pain, and soreness.
The Theragun Pro Plus model boasts a compact, non-slip design that fits comfortably in the hand without leaving fingerprints. Its attachments securely lock in place using a snap-and-twist mechanism. The built-in battery adds to its convenience, and the build quality is truly impressive.
It is equipped with Near-Infrared LED Light Therapy, which penetrates deeply into the skin to enhance blood circulation, speed up healing, and reduce inflammation. I had a family member who underwent leg surgery, and the use of vibration therapy, in addition to heat therapy, helped improve circulation and reduce muscle spasms during the healing process.
In my home gym, I make it a routine to work out three days a week, and after each session, I turn to my Theragun for deep tissue massage and muscle recovery. The Theragun PRO PLUS comes equipped with five interchangeable attachment heads, each designed for specific purposes, such as targeting specific muscle groups or providing a softer or firmer massage:
• Standard Ball: Suitable for general body massage to reduce tension.
• Dampener: Ideal for tender or sensitive areas, offering relief from aches and pains.
• Thumb: Targets lower back and trigger points to alleviate knots.
• Micro-point: Enhances circulation and stimulates recovery.
• Wedge: Designed for shoulder blades.
The device features an LCD screen that guides you through therapy routines and incorporates LED light therapy. It also includes a biometric sensor to monitor your heart rate by simply placing a finger on it. The breathwork routine is exceptional, offering visual guidance on the LCD screen and measuring breath levels during inhalation and exhalation using the biometric sensor. The screen also provides instructions on when to inhale and exhale.
Moreover, the Theragun PRO PLUS offers smart features, including Bluetooth Connectivity. After ensuring the device was fully charged, my first step was to connect it via Bluetooth. The accompanying app is comprehensive, allowing me to personalize my routines, track my progress, and control the device remotely. The LCD screen provides real-time feedback on speed, force, and battery life. A physical button below the screen lets me adjust the speed range, which ranges from 1,750 to 2,400 percussions per minute, allowing me to customize the intensity to my specific needs. For treating lower back pain, I prefer a gentler speed.
For protection and travel convenience, the device comes with a neoprene carrying case, featuring two compartments – one for attachments and routine cards that explains the purpose of each attachment, making it very user-friendly and acting as a reminder. The Theragun Pro Plus aesthetically boasts a distinguished blue metal finish on both sides, with the branding name embossed. Charging is versatile through USB-C, and the cable includes both USB-C and USB-A ends (cable is included).
In summary, and from my thoughts after using it for a week now, this Theragun PRO PLUS offers a holistic massage device to treat pain relief and overall well-being with its range of therapies and attachments. Its exceptional design, intelligent features, and seamless app integration position it as a standout product in the percussion therapy device market. While it may have a higher price point compared to some alternatives, its premium quality and functionality more than justify the price range.

Therabody Theragun PRO Plus
10/11/2023
A 46-year old runner training for his fastest half-marathon race. A 21-year old college student with a fused and herniated disc causing daily pain. A 45-year old working mom with a genetic disposition for varicose veins. What all three have in common is a love for the relief provided by the Therabody massage products.
We’ve been a family of the Therabody massage experience for a couple of years now starting first with the Theragun Elite then adding a Theragun Prime. Throughout the day our house is filled with the the sound of the gentle vibrations these devices provide. My wife loves the Elite so much that it’s written into our wedding vows that I’ll use it on her daily. If that’s not enough of a product endorsement for why you need to buy one of these things let’s talk about what else has improved with the latest Pro Plus.
The triangle design is now smaller in diameter leading to a fatter shape that manages to feel more comfortable to hold then previous iterations. Or as my wife likes to point out, now I can use it on her longer than before without feeling fatigue. A switch to USB-C for device charging means one less cable to find when it needs a charge. Hooray!
The LCD display screen is easier to read even when the device is at it’s highest massage speed making it quick and simple to toggle LED light therapy and increase the heat with the heat attachment.
By far the best new improvement is how the attachments connect. Previously it was a ball-lock mechanism that requires forcefully pulling the attachment off. I don’t like to admit how many times my elbow has hit nearby walls, arm rests, or headboards as a result. The new design is a insert/twist-to-lock with clearly marked arrows that allow for proper alignment. THANK YOU Therabody!
Speaking of attachments, what Therabody refers to as “therapies,” there are several new additions to the standard lineup which produce some juicy results. The heat attachment has become the new favorite for every session with the wife. I’m loving the new vibration attachment for ankle work after runs and we’re finding the micro-point is helpful around the knees and toes. Even more helpful is that the carrying case now has a graphic and a description of each therapy so you never have to guess what each one is for.
The carrying case has also undergone some major redesign allowing for proper storage of the therapies on one side and the body on the other which is a huge improvement over the previous cases.
The addition of a biometric sensor allows for on-device heart rate readings and we tried a couple of them, but we already wear Apple Watches so we aren’t finding much value in this functionality.
Another change is that in previous iterations of the mobile app, choosing a routine presented a 2D rendering of the body part that was supposed to be massaged with arrows guiding you through the intended routine. It was clear what you were supposed to be doing. These have been replaced with videos of humans using the device on themselves. For the ones we’ve tried Therabody’s decision to keep the mens shirts on while they use it on their back make them a bit more confusing though indirectly showcasing how to properly hold the device while using it on yourself is helpful. Video playback on my iPhone 14 Pro Max was jerky at times but we’ve found that seeing the video once is usually enough that we don’t really need to refer back to it. It would be nice to see some kind of toggle switch to enable or disable the videos.
If you find yourself in need of a massage therapy this device is a must have.

The Theragun pro plus is a great option for athletes, highly active people in almost any sport and older active people as well.
The many attachment that vary in purpose from heat therapy, vibrating joint therapy attachment, the thumb, the micro pint, the wedge and dampers are great for full body treatment of muscles and joints alike.
I do regular hard hikes weekly or semi weekly and found the pro plus a huge help in cutting recovery time.
When hiking hard, with elevation the pressure going up is on your knees mostly, while on the way back it becomes harder and harder and calfs and anckles.
Theragun pro plus helped recover anckles and knees by using the vibration attachment that makes recovery much faster and eased the pain.
The heat attachment is great for pre workout to loosen stiff muscles to avoid injury.
I also use the thumb for the area between my shoulder blades.
Another really high point of the pro plus is the app.
It’s really useful especially with the breathing exercises that it provides. I was able to slow down my heart rate and relax for real after less than 5 minutes of exercise. I plan on doing this every day.
Another success point of the pro plus you ask? It has a USB C charging port. This way I get to carry one charger and one cable for my phone, my laptop and my Theragun. This is really huge and great and makes life easier! The small things.
The pro plus has a cold attachment that is not included in the package which is the cold therapy one. I do plan on getting it as it should be the best one for recovery. I wish it was included in the price and package but it is what it is.
Finally, the pouch that the gun and attachments come in is really durable and protective, yet looks nice and simple.
I really think Theragun knocked it out the park with this one.

The Theragun PRO Plus, created by the premium brand Therabody, stands as a a modern marvel in the realm of massage and percussive therapy devices. My experience with this tool has been nothing short of transformational since the very first day I started using it. The device’s build quality, performance, and perfection easily outshine any competitors in the market. I would give this device a 10 out of 10 if I could.
During my personal experience with the Theragun PRO Plus and as someone who regularly plays golf, I was on the quest for the ideal solution to wrap up a day on the greens. Golf often leaves me with discomfort and soreness in my feet, legs, and arms. However, ever since the day I welcomed the Theragun into my life, I come home excited to fire her up and use it with the heat setting.
After my game of golf I put the heat on max with the heat attachment and just let it go to town on my feet, legs, and arms. When I return home, I reach for my trusty Theragun, eager to benefit from its soothing prowess. The device offers an array of attachment options, including the vibration, heat, micro-point, thumb, dampener, standard ball, and wedge attachment’s coupled with light therapy, which enhances the overall experience.
What truly sets the Theragun PRO Plus apart is its user-friendliness. The initial setup process is a breeze, making it virtually hassle-free. Right out of the box, it’s ready to spring into action. A simple tap of the D-Pad initiates its power, and you’re good to go. The ease with which you can select and switch between preferred attachments and begin your massage session is a testament to its user-centric design.
Additionally, the Theragun PRO Plus offers the option to incorporate light therapy, which activates the red infrared lights. This feature provides a holistic approach to therapy, enhancing not only the physical relief but also addressing the benefits of light therapy, contributing to a great wellness experience. Unfortunately, this was not equipped with the cold attachment which helps with reliving pain and reducing swelling. I believe this attachment should be included as if you have fire you should also have ice. The cold attachment sounds amazing! You do not have to put in the freezer the Theragun will actually chill the attachment itself. Now that is amazing and I can’t wait to try it.
The bluetooth feature ensures a seamless connection with the Theragun and your phone. You can easily load various massage routines into your device, providing step-by-step guidance and timed instructions on where to use the Theragun for a soothing massage. However, once you’ve stored your preferred massage routines, you might find yourself using the app less frequently. The app does offer updates for your Theragun, which might be the primary reason to reconnect unless you encounter new sore spots and seek step-by-step guidance for your massages.
The Theragun PRO Plus by Therabody is not just a massage device; it’s a gateway to a higher quality of life. Its exceptional attributes, remarkable performance, and user-centric design make it a leader in its category, capable of transforming the way you recover and rejuvenate. I can’t recommend it enough to those seeking a holistic and effective solution for muscle recovery and overall well-being.

Weightlifting has become an integral part of my life ever since the COVID shutdown of 2020. I needed an outlet to burn off steam and stress but also wanted to make a conscious effort to better my health and see noticeable changes in my figure. However, when doing this, the intensity of the workouts would grow and grow and so would the muscle aches and fatigue and lactic acid build up. I have used multiple brands of massage guns including Therabody’s big name competitor. However, this one trumps them all, simple because of the care and ingenuity that Therabody put into this product to make it shine above the rest.
Let’s start with the physical shell of the gun first. The ergonomic design and shape of this device, while it looks weird to some, is probably the best feature of a Theragun. You can reach spots you normally would not be able to reach with a typical massage gun and you can hold this gun multiple ways and they are all comfortable in the hands. Using the gun is as easy as pressing one button and then you can adjust the speed and turn on/off LED therapy (a new feature that is a welcome one that is even FDA approved). Have I noticed a difference with LED therapy? Not sure, but I am not going to dispute it works.
I really do love how the attachments go into this gun; they twist and lock so there is not going to be any instances where it pops off mid massage. Not only that, but this device is so smart, that it actually will recognize what attachment you put in! I was pretty blown away by that, it only works with the heat, vibration, ice ones, but because of that, it lets you customize the levels to those specific attachments like the heat level, the vibration intensity etc. The app is probably the best way to get the most of this device. There are dozens of differences preset routines that Therabody made that allow you to target specific areas or work on your sleep or breathing/meditation. These have immensely helped me recover faster after intense weight lifting sessions. Normally, after 48 hours I would be quite sore as the lactic acid built up. But as long as I use this massage gun right after my workout and the day after for 10-15 minutes on the areas that I worked on, the level of soreness dropped to almost non-existent.
This is definitely the best massage gun out there, and probably will be for the foreseeable future. Therabody did a great job with this gun. The only complaints I have are minor. For one, the LCD screen scratches way too easy which is a bummer. I also don’t like how it defaults to turning the LED light therapy on, I wish it would default to off as it is not needed for every single session and is annoying when you are working on your neck and the light just blinds you.

I have used several massage guns over the years, my last one just died so it was a good time to upgrade.
My first impression was that this might be too big, and I wasn’t sure how the bulky handles would work. I was completely wrong! The shape works very well since there is always a good angle to hold it with when reaching those hard-to-reach sore spots. The unit is heavy, so it is nice to be able to get it held at the right angle to use that heft to your advantage.
Initially, the app was not available for the Pro Plus, so I played around with the unit for a few days, learning about its capabilities and the huge assortment of heads that they send with it. These heads can easily be swapped for each other and a couple of them change the way the gun works. I have found that the vibration head works very well on muscle cramps that just won’t relax, while the smaller percussion head feels great with heat turned on for regular muscle soreness after exerting them. The smaller heads allow you to reach those muscles that need the special shapes.
After I got the app updated to support the Pro Plus, I was (and am) amazed at how many different routines there are programmed into it. It seems that no matter what the context, there has been something developed to help you address it. I am still trying different ones and my wife has discovered it as well.
At first, I was worried that with both of us using it, the battery would not hold up long enough, but that is definitely not the case. The battery must be huge since this thing goes for days without needing a recharge! The LED light therapy and pulse sensor really add to the effectiveness of the gun.
I have learned so much using this product and am constantly learning new ways to use it. I have never spent this much for a massage gun before and still think it is a big investment but the gains in recovering from overdoing it or just relaxing after a big workout or strenuous activity really make this a must-have for anyone.
If you purchase this, make sure you take the time to explore the app and get to know what it has to offer – this is truly one of those products that is valuable without the software, but together they are so much better than using it without!

I am a self proclaimed gym rat as of the last few years and I am always struggling with proper recovery. Enter this Theragun Pro Plus. Wow. The app has so many options to fit what I have worked or plan to work that day and guides you through proper usage including which head to use, how to reach the area, and a neat timer to remind you when to switch muscle groups or areas. Never should you fear leg day in the gym again! I am a 6 day per week gym visitor and this has drastically improved the effectiveness of my workouts and recovery. I very much enjoy the sleep program as well to help me relax and get the most out of my sleep time as well. According to my sleep tracking smartwatch, my quality of sleep has improved since running that program every night. Soreness from long runs and heavy lifts has decreased in intensity and time despite that I still push the limits of what I can lift and how fast I can run. Combining the vibration and the heat together with the LED light therapy is just so effective for a quick recovery to get to your next workout. The set comes with multiple different massagers for a variety of situations and uses as well as a carrying case and charging cord. Definitely, highly recommend for anyone who considers themself an athlete and needs some help recovering and getting the most out of your workout.

I have used cheaper massager before getting this and this massage is very well made. Made of TPU and plastic and does well very well made. The handle is good and easy to hold to. The massager has different attachments. The attachments are now actually screwed in which is more secure.
Standard Ball – This is for overall body.
Dampner – I use this for thighs, to reduce pain
Thumb – This is my go to attachment for my lower back!
Wedge – Best for shoulder blade.
Micro-point – This is for increasing circulation but i dont use it
It has an LED light therapy not sure how effective it is.
The heat therapy does work very well on the lower back.
Love the USB C charging and i dont have to keep taking a proprietary charging cable everywhere. The Battery life is rated at 150 mins. i think i was about to get about 120-140 minutes out of it.
Basically worth it.

In an average week, I run about 20 miles, coach two soccer teams, and play in a competitive over-40 year old league. I feel aches and pains, which I considered to be normal soreness after an aggressive workout. I have never used a massage gun as I didn’t feel that I needed one and was skeptical of the benefits.
So when given the opportunity to try out the Theragun Pro Plus massage gun for my muscle pain and tension, I decided to give it a go. Theragun is one of the most popular machine guns with outstanding reviews. The devices seem to last longer than more inexpensive products due to better overall quality.
The Theragun Pro Plus is a powerful device and is ideal for treating deep muscle pain. I have pulled multiple muscles and didn’t truly appreciate the damage that I have done to my calves over the years. Many times, I would feel a slight twinge in one of my calves while playing soccer, and I would shut it down for the day to prevent another 3 months of injury. The first time I used the Theragun Pro Plus, I felt knots in multiple places – based on my research, it seems this was scar tissue that had built up over multiple years/torn muscles. Two days later, I thought I had actually overdone it, as it felt like I pulled the muscle in one of my calves, however, this pain dissipated over the course of the next day. After using this massage gun a few times per week, and especially before/after runs and playing full-field 90 minute soccer games, I have noticed a substantial reduction in my pain and an improvement in my ability to run.
My recovery is much faster, and I haven’t felt any muscle twinges since using this gun. There is an app that accompanies the Theragun Pro Plus, which contains modes for before and post-work out massages. There are videos and controls which provide items related to pressure, time, vibration speed, and whether you want to use the LED/heat.
From what I can tell, LED/heat is a very new component to the Theragun line. There is a good bit of heat generated – I don’t know how beneficial this is, but I can feel the difference. The Theragun Pro also has multiple speed settings and attachments as you can see from the pictures. They vary from a specific pressure point, a ball, wedge, and the warming tool. The app does a great job of explaining which to use and when. They are easy to twist on and off. And it’s not very loud, so it’s good to use at night when people are trying to sleep. Speaking of sleep — there is even a sleep mode to reduce stress and induce calm.
I have been using the Theragun Pro Plus for over a month now, and I have been very impressed with the results. I use it on a variety of muscle groups, including my back, shoulders, legs, and even my feet. I find that it helps to reduce muscle pain and soreness, so I can run more frequently and at a faster pace than I could previously. The Theragun Pro Plus is very easy to use, even for a rookie like myself. The attachments are easy to change, and the speed settings are adjustable.
I would highly recommend the Theragun Pro Plus to anyone who is looking for a high-quality massage gun.

Works amazingly! Love that it comes with different attachments.

Love this. I had the theragun elite couple years ago and this is definitely a big upgrade worth the money.
ColbyC –
worked great. Way to expensive for what you actually get out of it. save 300 and buy the non heated.
RezaJ –
Had a hypervolt and upgraded to this new theragun. The heated attachment is the best imo. I havent tried the cold attachment yet. Not sure if the red light is anything special. I find myself turning it off to save battery. I wish it had a removable battery so i could charge one while using one. Overall though its great.

Excellent tool for sore muscles. Not sure if its worth the cost though.

I love this massage gun, great purchase! Easy to use.

This is, by far, the smartest Theragun yet! Using infrared heating in the handle as well as from the “hot head” allows for the release of muscles along with better blood flow. The vibration head is perfect for healing scar tissue. The cold head gives this device more than percussive therapy, it allows you to ice body parts that need attention. This version is comparatively compact with less moving parts. Carrying the theragun and all heads in the carry bag makes it convenient for travel.

Bottomless nugget ice….what else needs to be said?

This Theragun is definitely the most useful of all the percussive devices I have used to this point. The intensity levels are different enough you actually feel as though there is a reason to step up or step down the intensity. The motor runs smooth and quietly for the amount of force being produced. I have yet to exceed the stall force even when digging deeply into my quads and glutes. The attachments, with the exception of the cold therapy, are fantastic. The cold therapy honestly feels irrelevant. The ability to use percussion while using the cold feature (which you cannot do) would make it much better in my opinion. As of now it is a $90 cold compress that vents hot air out the sides. (Buyer be informed). The other attachments however are great. The heat attachment does work with the percussion and has multiple heat levels. A fantastic therapy tool. The vibration attachment works where all other percussive devices do not; on the delicate and sensitive joint structures. All this while maintaining what is to be expected of the basic attachments. They simply work as advertised. The heart rate monitor seems irrelevant, but potentially useful in isolated instances. The red light therapy is potentially a sugar pill. It might help. It might not. But it doesnt hurt to have it. Red light has been shown to be useful in tissue healing. Hopefully this adds a minor leg up to the therapeutic healing process. There are many additional digital guides for massage routines and breath work I have yet to explore. All the extras add tremendous potential but seem a little overkill. In the end the theragun itself seems high quality and worth the investment without any of the extra features. I most certainly would recommend if you are looking to maximize your personal therapeutic experience.

It’s really great. However, i am missing an attachment. I have to return and exchange the item.

This is my second massage gun from Therabody (Pro 5th generation), which I love and still have, but the pro plus takes this gun to a new level. The heat attachment is perfect and generates the right amount of heat. The vibration attachment works all the body parts and loosen tight muscle tissues. I purchased the cold attachment and it’s like a portable ice pack for inflamed muscles. Highly recommend this new version.

The Theragun pro plus is easy to handle, not noisy, wide variety of options using the internet, solid construction and the heat and cold attachments are very beneficial for therapies.

I wanted the best Massge Gun I could get and I found one in the Pro Plus. I love the design and the professional look. It comes with a carrying case with 7 attachments for whatever needs you have – plus a USB-C charging cable. It is powerful, yet not very noisy. It has settings to make adjustments to your liking. It looked a tad bulky but after a few uses I have gotten used to it to the point where I like to have it with me at most times. I am 69 years young and I work out everyday resulting in aches and needed revovery. This has been a God send and would revommend this for active seniors. My shoulder pain is lessened and revovery helped. I just bought the cold attachment, which is sold separately, and it works. I use the Pro Plus along with the app for multiple guided sessions that help get the most out of the device. My wife contributed to this as my “expensive” Christmas gift and now I have to “fight” her to get a turn. Yes, it is pricey but it is completely worth it.

Bought for my husband. His body soreness has been cut in half. He is recoving quicker, and can train harder. Recommend to the professional athlete.

I was thinking I was doomed with my back pain this device can really solve any pain you are suffering from. Make this purchase to relinquish any discomfort.

I can’t believe I’m giving this five stars given the price. But congrats, if you get this you have the Rolls of percussion devices. We had a high end version of the major brand competition of Therabody, and ended up replacing it (after the head shattered) with this. This is hands down the best I’ve used, and love the heated attachment, although not sold on the infrared light.

As someone that works 10 hours a day and comes home to a toddler this is the best tool I use ti unwind at the end of the day

Had a cheap knock off before that never stayed charged or gave enough pressure. Expensive but this does the job and is well built. Whole family loves to use it.
