    I returned it because it was what I was looking for. Today’s standard is three monitors minimum. My third would not connect without power. It is good for a dual setup. Had to return it.

    I can’t believe this worked so easily with a native VGA output on an Nvidia TNT2 card from 1999. The USB 1.1 on the Gateway motherboard actually powers this just fine. It also seems to allow proper aspect ratios by default, and I had a hard time finding an alternative anywhere else.

    I needed to run dual monitors for my home office but only had a VGA output and one HDMI. This resolved my issue and I did not need to use the usb (that’s for sound as I recall). Though it should be noted, this device will only support up to 1080p which means that my monitors have two different resolutions. I’m not willing to dumb down both to match. But since I use it for work, it’s not an issue. If you need the screens to match at a higher resolution, you will need to look at upgrading your graphics card as the limitation is the VGA output, not this adapter.

    This was a purchase to help my parents update their system without updating their display. I have not heard a single bad thing from them about this adapter, I think it’s safe to say you could do a lot worse for the money you pay.

    Doesnt work when doing BIOS. So because of this I give it low ratings. Only people who need this are using an old pc that has VGA, so therefore Id like to see BIOS. Also, uses USB slot.

    1) You do NOT have to connect the USB for the monitor display to function.
    2) The adapter isn’t great, considering it loosens and impacts the display quality (causes the screen to shake or jitter).
    3) It’s a clonky cable, so it gets in the way of nearby cables.

    It does what it’s intended to do, but the reality is that a VGA is analog, so using an adapter for it decreases the quality and increases the risk of the connection working imperfectly.

    I wanted to hook up my new computer which. does not have a VGA connection to my monitor, which does not have. a HDMI connection. and it does not work. complete waste of money. Your floor salesperson assured me I had the right part. I had already disposed of the package it came in along with the receipt
