I wanted to give 5 stars but a couple if my freezer items had freezer burn. I could understand this but they charge more for the bags than they should in my opinion. Makes all the savings from buying in bulk kind of not seem worth it. Kind of.
Also, the sealing mechanism is intentionally 3 inches from the front. This makes it so your bags must be longer than necessary. I wonder why they would make it so you waste a third if your bags…?

This is my first sealer and I’m impressed. Only thing, so far, I don’t like that I have to use such a large bag for smaller items. The roll is great but too much bag must be used. I like the date stamp and the built in cutter. Being able to store the bags in the machine storage compartment makes it easy to use as everything needed is right there.

HB has always been a good brand. I should have followed the review that said that there is A LOT of bag waste. You don’t need the storage holder and the sealing and vaccum areas are set way back from the front edge so there is a ton of wasted bag space after sealing.

The functionality of this vacuum sealer would earn it 4 stars but Hamilton Beach’s complete lack of customer support loses 3. I would highly recomment going with a different brand (maybe Foodsaver) that actually supports their products.
After a couple of years of use the fragile plastic clip on the accessory hose broke off and I contacted Hamilton Beach to purchase a replacement. Guess what? They don’t sell this extremely fragile, quick-wearing component seperately. A brittle, plastic component that’s virtually guaranteed to break and need replacing within the service life of the vacuum sealer is non-replaceable. Fortunately we discovered that a generic part meant for a Foodsaver machine also fits, but not sure how long I’ll be keeping this machine knowing that any fragile, plastic component wearing out could turn it into a paperweight.

This is a quality vacuum sealer, super easy to operate. Comes with a lot of bag material to start with, the heat stamp date feature is great. Highly recommend this vacuum sealer.
